Overview

If Hogwarts was more like Woodstock, and Voldemort was your childhood sweetheart turned abusive boyfriend...

As long as Nora Sparrow can remember, Owen has protected her. He’s been there through years of miserable foster homes and snobby mean girls, always whispering to her that she doesn’t belong here. Telling her that this is the mundane world, and someday, he’ll get them back to Helicon, the world of the muses. The world where they belong.

But Nora’s fifteen years old, and she isn’t sure she quite believes it anymore. When he begs her to try another ritual to open the dimensions, she agrees mostly to humor him. Owen’s rituals never work.

But this one does, and Nora is flung into the whimsical, bohemian land of Helicon, where she’s expected to do nothing more than create and inspire. With the help of her new muse friends, Nora sets out to discover who is creating holes in the fabric of Helicon and draining away the muses’ energy.

Everything would be perfect, if only Owen’s protectiveness wasn’t starting to seem so...obsessive.

Meet the Author

V. J. Chambers likes bad boys, but she likes them to be actual bad boys, not misunderstood weaklings who cover up their emotional scars with a thin veneer of pretend bad-boy-ness.She likes to tackle tough philosophical questions. She likes to push fiction to the edge, to go just a little farther. She writes stories about difficult people living difficult lives in difficult situations. Usually, there's magic. Or monsters. Or space. Or gun fights. A lot of times, there's also L-O-V-E. (Or at least uncomfortable conversations about sex.)She's the author of the Jason and Azazel series and many other stories for teens and adults. She lives in Shepherdstown, WV with her boyfriend Aaron and their cat.

    Didn't get it...

I couldn't get into the story. Jumped to the end after a few chapters. Wouldn't recommend.

I love, love, love this new book!! The imagination of VJ Chamber

I love, love, love this new book!! The imagination of VJ Chambers is just amazing. Once again, she has me completely hooked. This book left me feeling as though I could actually live in Helicon with all of the Muses and be happy. What a wonderful world she has created for these characters. Well...except for Owen and his antics. But I don't want to spoil it. This is definitely a MUST READ Series that you will not want to miss out on...I promise.

    Alright

Wasnt the best book Ive ever read, but it was a good book. Not overly cheese. A clean romance. No sex scenes. Not a lot of "I love you! I cant live without you." Kinda crap.

I actually really enjoyed this book. The storyline was a bit meandering but it fit with the world in which it was set. I thought that the relationship between Owen and Nora was very real and that the author had obviously done her research on crazy guilt-logic. :) I really enjoyed the lighter aspects of the story and the philosophy discussion as well and I plan to read the next one.
