Overview

He has recorded with the biggest stars in the music business. He wrote many of the hits that made Sean "Puffy" Combs one of the richest men alive.

On the surface, the multi-million dollar empire that Puff built looks like the stuff of dreams. But after working with Puff for a decade, Curry discovered that Bad Boy Entertainment is not, as Puff promised, a place where dreams come true.

No, rather it is a shell game comprised of contracts designed to rob artists of their time, dreams and publishing rights.

Dancing With the Devil reveals startling new details about key events in the fast paced, controversial (and sometimes deadly) world of Hip-Hop.

In revealing the dark side of the industry, Curry hopes to provide a road map for reforms necessary to prevent artists ending up in poverty, in prison or in the grave.

    Bad Boy for Life?

"Yo Ain't S*** Changed since the Notorious!" was the first line on cd, wax, digital download, whatever that the world had the opportunity to hear Mark Curry's voice on a record. After reading this selection, you will discover several things:
    1. Mark Curry was responsible for a WHOLE lot of Bad Boy Recordings that featured Puff Daddy.
    2. Mark Curry for a long time was Puff Daddy's "Ghost Writer"
    3. You will also learn Puff Daddy had a mean streak and a hint of "Thug" in him.
    4. Mark Curry is upset with Puff Daddy for not making the effort in releasing his debut album. Which by the way taints your idea of the book after a while as you start to wonder how much "Haterade" Mr. Curry had drunk prior to his writing this book.
    5. The book is a "quick" read.
    6. You will also find out in this book, Jamal "Shyne" Burrows was a "Gangster Rap Junkie" who wrote his rhymes based off of recorded materials and not experiences.
    7. Robert "Black Rob" Ross wasn't a convicted criminal because he wanted to be, he just never recieved monetary compensation from Puff Daddy leading him to a life of crime and drugs.
    8. By the end of this book, you will want to stop reading this book because you are made to feel sorry for someone who was writing rhymes for one of the hottest artists in the world and he did nothing with it.
    9. You will learn Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs is one of the smartest men in the music industry who had only what amounts to 2 years of university level education and is now a multi millionaire. You will want to read HIS book when its readily available or ever made.
    10. You MUST buy the book if you are a Bad Boy Entertainment fan. Its a learning lession in earning, making and more importantly...KEEPING YOUR MONEY!

Other than my 10 callouts, I enjoyed the book. I wish Mr. Curry a hundred years of success but he needs to man up and make things happen without waiting for one of the busiest men in the world to do it for him.
