Good but has some bad qualities

Overall it was really good. I liked how most of it was in ridleys point of view so you got to see what she really thinks about link. It was well written and exciting. The only bad thing is the annoying cliff hanger at the end and that I would of liked to read about ethan lena liv and john more.

    Great Prequel!

Its graduation day for Link, Ethan and Lena, who will soon be going off to college. With his heart on his sleeve, Link says those three dreaded words to Ridley. I LOVE YOU. Ridley, who shares his feelings, but refuses to admit it, runs off to cleanse her mind of those words and the power they have over her heart. That summer between graduation and college focuses mainly on Ridley and her wild antics, dangerous activities and trying to escape the truth her heart knows. Although told through different POVs, pretty much it’s all about Ridley! Will she come back to say goodbye to her friends as they head off to college? Has Link moved on?

Dangerous Dream by Kami Garcia and Maragret Stohl is a great introduction to this group and the trials of dealing with or being Ridley. The authors have a wonderful and completely likeable core group that play off each other well. Ridley’s flaws are so apparent, its plain to see she is her own worst enemy, but you have to love her flare.

I liked this but was disappointed by the length. The product description shows it as 45 pages in length when in reality only 30 pages are Dangerous Dream the others are product related and sneak peeks at other works. While I am glad I read it, the eBook should be 99 cents not $1.99.

This short (I don't really think it is long enough to be called a novella) provides readers with three different episodes from three different characters that lead up to Dangerous Creatures. Each episode is interesting, but the flow was stilted.

Bring this new series on! I'm in!!!!!

Link and Ridley both fascinated me in the original Beautiful Creatures/Caster Chronicles series and I thought at the time, I wanted to read more of their story. Kami has delivered!!!!!

This was a short story features Link and Ridley in a new spin-off series. I absolutely inhaled Beautiful Creatures/Castor Chronicles with it's original and enthralling combination of old South and paranormal and am looking forward to this new series.

In this setup novella, Link is adjusting to being a part-incubus and Ridley is back to her trouble-making, escapist ways and refusing to admit her own feelings. There's some Ethan and Lena interaction, too, as they have graduated and are heading off to college - loved that too!

One warning: IF you have not read the original Beautiful Creatures/Castor Chronicles series, I would highly recommend that you read that 1st! This could be read as a stand-alone, but the set-up of the characters in the original series, is important and that was all in the original series. Trust me... if you're a fan of YA paranormal romances, you'll love the original series!

Bring this new series on! I'm in!!!!!

    Review Courtesy of April Hollingworth

I love the Dangerous Creatures series, but I found this short story a bit too short, and in so leaving out more than it should. I felt like I was left hanging at the end, too many questions and no answers. It being a short story in the series I’m sure the questions will be answered, but personally I would have preferred them answered in this book.

    The Review:

Ethan, Lena and Link have finally graduated and can’t wait to start their new lives. Ridley picks a fight with her boyfriend Link and storms off to travel the world and try and forget him. On returning she ends up in New York City and joins a dangerous underground game where winner wins all. The stakes are high, but Ridley is determined to win no matter the cost.

FTC Advisory: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers through Net Galley provided me with a copy of Dangerous Dream by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl. Published through Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Kindle Edition. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

Rid is a Dark Caster who believes she has everything figured out

Rid is a Dark Caster who believes she has everything figured out, but when her boyfriend says he loves her, well what can she do but leave. She thinks with her Sirens power she can handle everything. This short novella into the world of Dangerous Creatures looks at the point of view of the ill-fated cousin of Lena, and how she colors her world. Her personal beliefs and how she handles things is what cause her all her troubles.
a great first look into the series, and a great opening look into the next new novel of Dangerous creatures.

** I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for honest feedback **

Dangerous Dream is excellent. I honestly didn't think I was going to like it,(there was another short story written to go along with this series (I won't say which one) which I completely disliked), so imagine my pleasant surprise when, in fact, I enjoyed it quite a bit.

This short story opens on graduation day. The sun is a little too hot, the speeches are a little too long and Ridley is a little too bored. Which is a very dangerous combination of 'too's for our favorite bad girl. So Ridley does what Ridley does best...spices things up Ridley style. Good thing she has her powers back because they certainly come in handy. Especially when Link drops the dreaded "L" word on her, which is a definite deal breaker. So, Ridley takes off. But no matter the distance, she can't seem to get Shrinky Dink off of her mind which is like a punch to the gut. But the even bigger punch comes when she gets back to find that Link may have moved on. To get him off of her mind, she joins a game of Liar's Trade. But are the stakes too high even for Ridley?

Dangerous Dream is well written, easy to follow, and nicely paced. I would definitely recommend it to any fan of this series!

Before I buy this, I have one question... :)

Hello fellow BC fans!!!! I am absolutely infatuated with this series, and I cannot believe that one is capable of writing to the capacity of these four books (as well as "Dream Dark", included in the third installment, "Beautiful Chaos"). Pertaining to the quality of this short story and its cost, if anyone could reply with the number of pages that this includes, I will seriously LOVE YOU FOREVER. xD Thank you so much, and happy reading! ;)

It was good to get a brief glimpse of Lena and Ethan. I never really liked Ridley, she makes a lot of dumb decisions and it annoys me, but I'm willing to try this new series in hopes she grows.up. Also I hope for some more Lena and Ethan scenes
