A MATCH MADE IN MURDER

A dance marked their first meeting. A slow, sensuous waltz amid wedding revelers, though they'd felt alone…and entirely too intimate. Because homicide sergeant Jake Ford had given up women, and Nicole Taylor knew the darkly handsome, intensely shuttered cop was far from her perfect match.

Murder marked their second encounter—the victim, a client of Nicole's dating service. Without doubt, she knew Jake wouldn't be going away. Nor would her blazing desire for this man who'd awakened feelings both reckless and raw. Feelings she saw mirrored in eyes that contained hidden pain. Though her head warned her that Jake was all wrong, why did her heart scream that loving him was so very right?

Meet the Author

Maggie Price turned to crime at the age of 22. That's when she went to work at the Oklahoma City Police Department. As a civilian crime analyst, she evaluated suspects' methods of operation during the commission of robberies and sex crimes, and developed profiles on those suspects.

During her tenure at OCPD, Maggie stood in lineups, snagged assignments to homicide task forces, established procedures for evidence submittal, even posed as the wife of an undercover officer in the investigation of a fortune-teller. Drawing on her 12 years experience in law enforcement, Maggie penned her first novel, Prime Suspect.

One week after Silhouette acquired the novel of romance and intrigue, the Romance Writers of America awarded Prime Suspect its prestigious Golden Heart Award for Best Romantic Suspense. When the novel was released in October 1997, Silhouette named Maggie their Intimate Moments "Women to Watch" Author for 1997.

Maggie has conducted extensive research for her novels that thrill and chill by visiting OCPD's forensics laboratory, taking aim on the police firing range, riding the graveyard shift with patrol officers, and hitting the streets with OCPD's Vice Detail during the conduct of a prostitute sting.

Maggie loves to hear from readers!

    Excellent romantic suspense

In Oklahoma City, homicide detective Jake Ford attends the wedding of his partner Whitney to assistant DA Bill Taylor. At the reception, Jake meets Bill¿s sister Nicole, owner of ¿Meet Your Match¿, a firm that matches couples. However, Jake makes it clear he is not interested in Nicole. Jake admits to himself Nicole is the first woman to stir his juices since his beloved wife Annie and their twin daughters died in that plane bombing several years ago.
Jake¿s plan to never see Nicole again ends when he is assigned to investigate the death of Phillip Ormiston, CEO of a funeral home chain. Nicole found the body, which turns out to be a murder. Jake makes inquiries that brings him in close proximity to Nicole, who his gut says is innocent. As the couple falls in love, Jake struggles with his desire for no more hurting commitments and Nicole battles with the pain she still feels over the failure of her first marriage.
DANGEROUS LIAISONS is an exciting romantic suspense novel that will please genre fans. The story line centers on the police investigation with a cross appeal to readers who enjoy a good homicide investigation. The relationship between Nicole and Jake add to the fun as both try to stop their attraction to one another. Maggie Price provides readers with a well written, entertaining novel.
Harriet Klausner
