From the sound of those scintillating songs and one look at the steamy video for "Crazy in Love", it's obvious that this hormone-fueled and Dangerously in Love Beyoncé is ready to shed her good-girl image -- a welcome makeover for fans who've been infatuated with the caramel vixen and her powerhouse pipes since she proclaimed her bootylicious-ness back in 2001. Musically, however, the disc doesn't quite sustain the sexually charged energy of the lead single. Although Knowles wrangled top-shelf collaborations with dancehall star Sean Paul the Hindi-meets-hip-hop-driven "Bad Boy", Missy Elliott the playful "Signs", OutKast's Big Boi the Dirty South dirge "Hip Hop Star", and Luther Vandross a remake of Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway's duet "The Closer I Get to You," also found on Vandross's Dance with My Father, the disc was executive-produced by Beyoncé's dad, Matthew Knowles, who ensures it has the generic, CCM-cum-pop-tinged R&B production quality of all Destiny's Child projects. Even so, when the 21-year-old's dynamic vocals take center stage, as on the "Strawberry Letter 23"–inspired "Be with You," the power ballad title track, and the jazzy "Gift from Virgo," her star shines so brightly that it nearly implodes. It may not be history making -- as her beau, Jay-Z, boasts on "Crazy in Love" -- but with the intimate Dangerously in Love, a grown-up Beyoncé takes catwalk-worthy strides toward controlling her own destiny.
Entertainment Weekly - Neil Drumming
Dangerously, which the singer coproduced and almost entirely cowrote, is more about moving on from Destiny's Child's frothy aesthetic than competing with the current crop of singing sensations. [A-]
Vibe - Jason King
Dangerously in Love surges with sexy dance jams like the Eastern-influenced "Naughty Girl." And "Crazy in Love," the raucous lead single, flaunts her relationship with boyfriend Jay-Z over a thunderous double-time chorus that samples an old Chi-Lites tune.
Blender - Ben Ratliff
If you had guessed that Beyoncé possesses some sort of genius, based on her rhythm-dragging vocal tracks, her writing, and her production on most Destiny's Child songs -- you win.

    Dangerously To Be In Love!!

Beyonce's CD to me was the best-selling CD of 2003. She looked beautiful, had outstanding songs, and really shows the growth into being a woman with "Dangerously In Love." My favorite songs are "Crazy In Love", "Naughty Girl", "Baby Boy", "Gift From Virgo", and "Daddy". Overall, a wonderful project from Beyonce.

    Beyonce...

Beyonce has a good voice. 8/10. I love Crazy in Love. 9/10 song. I would by this CD is there weren't bad words. I do like Beyonce's voice but I hope she will make wiser choices and not put bad words in her songs.

New Review, New Feelings: Hot Album

I previously wrote a review for this album giving it 4 stars because I wasn't feeling this album as much as I am now. But after listening to it non stop for months last year,I've changed my mind to the extreme. Beyonce's sexy, smooth solo debut disc tops all female R&B albums that I bought in 2003, (with the exception of Alicia Keys' latest, which is better than this CD) including Ashanti, Monica, and Mya. With its amazing beats, vocals, and lyrics, Bee's bumpin' album is sure to reamin a classic in my CD collection

The best CD of 2003, period!!!

Wow.... This album left me speechless! It is the best CD I bought in 2003.. When I first got it, I did go straight to Crazy In Love, Baby Boy, and Dangerously In Love since they were the only songs that I was familiar with. But as I started to listen to the songs more and more, I loved em more and more each time!!! 1.) Crazy In Love ~ Great to dance to. Great to listen 2, especially when you're in love and life can't be any more crazy! I give it a 4/5 2.) Naughty Girl ~ I love to sing along to this one. I wasn't really into it at first but now I love it. The beat is great to dance to. 3/5 3.) Baby Boy ~ Hot!!!!!!! Sean Paul just kills it on this one!!! One of the best songs on the CD!!!! Go Beyonce! 5/5 4.) Hip Hop Star ~ This is an okay song.. I really don't understand much of what Big Boi is saying LOL.. Good song tho.. 2/5 5.) Be With You ~ Great song! This is a great song to just mellow out and relax to. 3/5 6.) Me, Myself & I ~ One of the best if not the best song on the album. This song is amazing, I never get sick of it. It's like she sings what other girls are going through.. which really helps.. I know, I went through exactly what this song says and I couldn't have said it better myself!! She's showing that we really don't need a man to make our life complete. Go Beyonce!!! 5/5 7.) Yes ~ Just a nice song.. It's about guys... And what she says is true. You say yes to a whole bunch of things, but when you finally say no to a guy, they act like you never said yes and make you feel like the bad one.. This has happend to me a lot too.. Girls.. you should DEFINITELY bump this one! 3/5 8.) Signs ~ Hot song. It's very cute and DIFFERENT that's what I love about it the most. I'm into horoscopes, they're fun to read. But if you're a person who thinks horoscopes and signs and which ones are compatible is just nonsense.. then honey this song is not for you. This song is fun to sing along with it took me forever to learn how to sing Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, oh! Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Saggiatarius I love all ya'll! 4/5 9.) Speechless ~ I just love listenin to this song when I had a long day and just want to forget about everything and everyone and just think about that special someone! 3/5 10.) That's How You Like It ~ It's like Beyonce and Jay-Z have this chemistry that's just AMAZING when it comes to music making.. This song is just HOT!! What more can I say about it!! Out of the 3 songs that they have done together, this is DEFINITELY my favorite!! 5/5 11.) The Close I Get To You ~ This is an amazing song!!!! I can't call it a classic since it's a remake, but man is it hot!! Luther and Beyonce sound AMAZING together, this is just a beautiful song, end of story. 4/5 12.) *Dangerously In Love 2* ~ I remember when I first heard this song.. It was a long time ago, when I bought the Destiny's Child "Survivor" album. This song is the definition of beautiful. There are no words for it! And then when I hear it on Beyonce's new album, I was in awe, I was soo happy that she put it on her new album and named it after this song. This song is definitely going to be a classic.. Let's see who's going to remake it in about 20 years! When you're in love, this is just the perfect song, sometimes you just want to cry. Beyonce outdid herself on this one. This song is why she is one of my favorite singers ever! This song is a masterpiece. End of story. 5/5!!!!!!!! 13.) Beyonce Interlude ~ This is a pretty poem.. Great to tell someone when you're in love. It would have been nicer if it was longer!!! But it's still beautiful. 4/5 14.) Gift From Virgo ~ Sucha great song. It's about loving someone, and wishing you were with them right now, and letting them know how much they mean to you. 15.) Daddy ~ This just makes the album complete. You can tell Beyonce has a love for her dad and a bond that nobody can ever break. She really appreciates him and it's great that she showed her love fo

    Deafly a talent person

I think Beyonce out did her self this time. It have been a long time since I have bought a CD and liked every song on it. I think for the most part she is a talented person and she really deserve her props. She needs to keep during what she doing and keep God first. I like Destiny Child as well.

    Just Awesome

Few years ago in 1999-2000 Beyoncé and her group Destiny´s child brought Say My Name and i,ve been a fan since. Dangerously in Love is taken from Survivor the latest album Destiny´s child did together in 2001. This album is just what i expected to be great Rn´b songs and a beautiful ballad with Luther Vandross. Beyoncé has a big stunning voice like Aretha Franklin-Celine dion type she is somewhere between them. my favorit songs on this album are Babyboy with Sean Paul,Dangerously In Love,Crazy in love with jay-Z and some others. Beyoncé is a true diva and she makes great songs and she is much better R´NB artist than Mariah Carey who tries to make her songs hip but it doesn´t work for her. I Recommend this album to all Destiny´s Child fans and of great divas like Celine Dion,Aretha Franklin and Mary j Blige.

    The Next Big Thing!

Beyonce Knowles is the next big thing among young female RnB singers! Her voice is truly remarkable and simply incomparable! Whether she is singing in a hiphop dance music or belting out a ballad, beyonce justifies every song with her soulful voice! Her rendition of Closer I Get to You is worth comparing with the original Roberta Flack version. "Crazy in Love", "Naughty Girl", "Be With You", "Yes" are the best songs from the album. Other hits by Beyonce including Work It Out and Bonnie & Clyde '03 makes this album more worth buying! Beyonce can defintely conquer the music world even without the rest of Destiny's Child! She is the next big thing!
