    Disappointing

Anyone who reads this book hoping to get a glimpse at day to day life inside Danvers State Hospital is going to be disappointed with this book. The author focus's far too much on her personal life and the book ends up more about her and her family than life in Danvers. I think she would have done well to have gotten professional assistance in writing this.

The book has a few grammatical errors and is not well written. It was pretty interesting though. I would have liked it better if she added more details about the incidents at Danver and not exactly write it like it was an actual diary. In addition, it is also very repetitive which got very annoying after awhile.

    Worth the time

Danvers State is an unnerving, yet stimulating story of one woman¿s life and her experience at the notorious hospital, Danvers State. This personal account is a shocking and gripping tale that sheds light on some of the darker aspects of the asylum. The author¿s struggle to support her family is simply courageous. I would recommend this book to anyone.
