I was absolutely appalled to find that this book was only 45 pages! $3.99 for 45 pages? That computes to almost 9¿ a page!! This will be the LAST Jennifer Probst book I buy.

Good read but not worth four bucks. I was shocked on how short the story was.

Dare Me by Jennifer Probst is the third book in her newly re-released serial, Steele Brothers. Rafe Steele is a Submissive. He is hoping to have an encounter or two, work it out of his system and go about his life all vanilla-y and stuff. He does NOT want his brothers to know - they are Dom's, just what on earth will they think of him when they find out - No, that won't ever happen. Summer is a Dominatrix. It is a new thing for her but it totally fits her lifestyle - quiet but controlled in public, an elementary school teacher, but fully in command in private. When she meets Rafe and he trusts her enough to let he do her thing with him she can't believe her luck. Then she realizes he isn't here for the long haul and she's tired of denying her true nature. Will Rafe realize that being a Sub doesn't make him weak? Will he realize that, just maybe, his brothers will understand as they are also in the lifestyle and are two very open-minded men?

4 star It all starts with one business card for FANTA C. You get one night to fulfill your fantasies. They match you with someone who wants a similar fantasy. It’s all about mutual enjoyment. If you have not read the below I would recommend reading these books(s) also as they are part of this series: Catch Me (Steele Brothers #1) Play Me (Steele Brothers #2) This is Summer and Rafe’s short story. Summer is a dominant woman who is looking for a submissive. Rafe is exactly what she wants in the bedroom. When Rafe thinks one night will be all he needs will Summer convince him differently? Can they really make a relationship work or are they just kidding themselves? If they develop a relationship will Rafe ever be able to let his submissive secret out? Or will that be just what destroys everything? I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this book.

This third story ( a short novella) in the Steele brother's series is all about Rafe, the brother who went away to war and has come back a changed man. In fact, he's realized something about himself - that while he might be a tough alpha guy in most areas of his life, it turns him on in the bedroom when a woman takes charge. He takes up his brother Rome's offer to use the Fanta-C guest card to find a woman who is interested in the same experience as him. Finding Summer is almost too good to be true, as she's discovering that being a Dominatrix is more and more to her liking. But will Rafe be big enough to admit that it's something more than just an experiment for him? Whew! This one is a super sexy read (as are the rest in the series) but something about a strong sexy man letting a woman be in control just ups the steamy quotient for me and the result is an exciting novella about taking the risks you need to be happy. I really liked Summer in this story, how she's made up her mind that she's not going to settle for second best, and that she needs whatever man she's with to own up to his desires and not keep her as a secret, which Rafe tries to do. It takes a strong man to admit when he's been wrong though, and Rafe soon realizes that being with Summer is more important to him that anything else, even if it means facing (perceived) ridicule from his dominant brothers. But he has underestimated their love and support of him and we get a happy ending for Summer and Rafe and the peace of mind he's been seeking. 4 stars for this super sexy story!

Received an ARC for an honest review: The Steele Brothers Series is a little different than Jennifer's usual style of writing by including the BDSM world. This series is a re-release with added information. I read the original series a long time ago, before really knowing what the BDSM world contained, way before 50 SOG. What I learned from reading her well-written stories and this unknown world, is trust is very important. Trust is important in the "normal vanilla" relationship, but it takes more in the BDSM world. Regardless what role you play, all relationships have to have trust.

Summer Preston knows she’s a dominant, no mistake about it, but she’s tired of compromising; she wants a man will be compatible in the bedroom as well as outside; she will not submit. So far, she’s had a few experiences in BDSM clubs, but as she doesn’t do one-night-stands, it’s been mostly training and it’s getting discouraging. Rafe Steele, army vet, all alpha, struggles with the fact that he doesn’t want to be controlling in bed, quite the opposite in fact. But him being a soldier with 2 macho brothers, he is very reluctant to accept his preference. His brothers book him a visit to FANTA-C, a BDSM club where they think Rafe will find himself a submissive, as they have, but they are so wrong… Jennifer Probst hit a sex home run! Fantastic! Summer is a real domme, I love her, and I saw her in all her dichotomy. Ms. Probst really understands the psychological angle of domme/sub; both Rafe and Summer are IT. While Summer struggles with finding a compatible mate, Rafe struggles with the IDEA that he is submissive. They like each other, Summer is ready to give it a go, but Rafe hesitates. Jennifer Probst is a writer I particularly enjoy, she always has original turns to her characters, but with DARE ME, she stepped out of her comfort zone and it is a winner! For once, the dominant is a woman, and neither character conforms to the preconceived stereotypes; this is what reality is all about. DARE ME is a short book, but everything is there: character development, a complete story – no loose ends, great secondary characters. The interactions between Rafe and Summer felt entirely authentic. There is hot sex, titillating BDSM, but true love as well. I loved it from beginning to end! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Not worth the spend. I think that B&N should start posting the number of pages you are buying.
