Loeb and Sale are the masters of their realm.

Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale are right up there in the ranks of comic book greats like Frank Miller, Alan Moore, and Stan Lee. I read this book not too long after reading The Long Halloween and it blew me away. This is the story of Daredevil before he was THE Daredevil (meaning before Miller took over). The story isn't dark and gloomy like how just about every writer has tried to do but rather makes it very vibrant which is a welcome change. This story, which is a retelling of Daredevil's life during his first four issues, also doesn't try to bring DD into the present but keeps it in the sixtes, which is refreshing. The art is among the best I've seen and the dialogue is great. If you like Daredevil, the team of Loeb and Sale, or the Silver Age of comics, this needs to be in your collection.

    Another Loeb/Sale classic retelling!!

This is another of the color-themed named series by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale and this one, like the others is worth reading and rereading! Sale's art has the perfect retro look that makes these classics shine. Loeb's dialogue here is spot on and pretty fun. The insight into Matt Murdock's life through a few different stages is pretty awesome. Overall, this is a really fun read!

    I Also Recommend:

    Awesome!

This is a great addition for any collector. I'm a huge fan of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's work together (Batman-The Long Halloween, Catwoman-When In Rome, Spider-Man Blue) and this is one of the best of their team-ups. Don't let the "it's a comic-book" stigma stop you from reading this great work.

Jeph Loeb shows his talent for more than Baman

I've long been a fan of Loebs work from The Long Halloween to Hush, but this book shows that he's not just a good Batman writer, but a good writer period. Daredevil Yellow goes into the often looked over Daredevil years before Brian Bendis and Frank Miller. Diving into the characters mind and how he affects the people around him.

    Deceptive Attraction to Youth

Daredevil Yellow clearly appeals to youngsters, particularly males, as it portrays the exciting life of an action-type superhero. However once inside the book, it isn't long before insensitive, tasteless jokes are made about one of history's most prominent disabled individuals, Helen Keller. There are also pictures with related dialog of a sexual nature that are totally inappropriate for the age level audience for which this book is intended. In addition, excessive violence exceeds acceptability as the 'need' for it is not apparent. Parents and educators should be cautioned with regards to this book's content.

One of the Best Origin Stories Yet

'Daredevil: Yellow' is by far one of the best stories retelling a superhero's origin that I have ever read. Jeph Loeb is a superb writer and he really captured the confliction behind Daredevil. Tim Sale's artwork is masterful and really placed the realism that Daredevil deserves in a story. I highly recommend this book to everyone, especially Daredevil fans.
