Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

Embarking on a reconnaissance mission into unexplored space regions, Lieutenant Commander Kris Longknife has good reason to regard herself as an explorer, not a warrior. But then all hell breaks out. Attacked by an alien spaceship, she comes out firing. She destroys the killer ship, but her fight-not-flight decision to continue the mission sparks a mutiny by her own officers. A nice choice for readers of David Weber and the Honor Harrington novels. A paperback and NOOK Book original.

    another excellent book

Another excellent installment in the Kris Longknife series. A gratifying return to combat and adventure in outer space. I always look forward to these books as it has become difficult to find good 'space based' fiction recently.
If you are looking for a well written book about space travel and ship-to-ship combat, this is a must.

I love this series of books!

I am only half way through this book but as with all the other books in this series, they are just fantastic! The auther brings the characters alive and he has constantly developed the characters into intreging and believable ones. This is amoung the best series out there for this type of reading. Even though I am only half way through this book I can't wait for the next one!

    Great read

Love this series! Kris and her mismatched band are very likable characters and the villians are nasty. Love to hate the King and Crossie! Can't wait for the next book!

    Highly Recommended

Daring brings us to the point of Kris and Jack recognizing their mutual attraction for each other. Introduces some really nasties. The only thing about the books is there is a lot of personal back and forth that is sometimes tedious. I almost think that the series was written with the younger reader in mind. Beyond that it is an enjoyable series along the lines of the Buck Rodgers serials of long ago. How will she get out of this mess and who's going to try and kill her next. Interested in seeing where the next book leads us.

    Fantastic book!

Darker than David Weber's "Honor Harrington" character, this series delivers...it's a great series...can't wait to dive into the next one!

If you love Kris, you must read this.

The saga continues and is not as active as the preivous stories. But I enjoyed it.
