Overview

A rescued horse, an abandoned ranch, a new beginning for a very lucky girl ... and the start of an exciting new horse series!

Taylor Henry loves horses, but her single mom can't afford riding lessons, much less a horse. So when she discovers an abandoned gelding and pony, Taylor is happy just to be around them.

But the rescued animals have nowhere to go, and Taylor is running out of time to find them a good home. Could the empty old barn on Wildwood Lane be the answer? And could Taylor's wildest dream -- of a horse to call her own -- finally be coming true?

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Myrna Dee Marler
Like so many eleven-year-old girls, Taylor Henry is obsessed with horses, but like many other girls, she lives in a neighborhood of suburban homes and small back yards where horses are not welcomed by the neighbors. Furthermore, Taylor's mother, newly split from her dad, is struggling to make ends meet. To feed her craving, Taylor helps out the local animal rescue worker and miraculously finds two abandoned, beat-up, starving horses in search of a home. Taylor wants so very much to take them home, but of course, that is impossible. She manages to find them temporary refuge at an abandoned stable close to her house. Fortuitously, the owner shows up interested in revitalizing the run down stable for a profit. All would be well if it were not for the evil neighbor; the simpering, manipulative beautiful girl in her grade (with the unlikely name of Plum); and the indifference of her best friend, a boy named Travis. But Taylor solves her problems, and by end, a book series "Wildwood Stables" has begun and a new/old riding school established. Good for girls who love to read about horses, which includes almost all of them perhaps. Reviewer: Myrna Dee Marler

You Just Have To Read It!!!!!!

This book was awesome! I've read two of the books, but can't find the others. I like horses, but dogs and pigs more. It still caught my interest just like it'll catch yours. Read it you'll want to read the 2nd and 3rd and so on. I hope you read this!

    Amazing!

This book is really great! I bought it at m school's bookfair and I couldn't wait for more! The horses are breeds that are well-known, and everything is modern for readers to relate too! The story-line is completely realistic, and it realated to me a bit! Funny story actually, I got my first horse when I read the chapter where Taylor keeps Prince Albert! Recommended for any horselovers!

    Awsome

I read this book and fell in love with it!! It's filled with action and you'll be dying for more. The author is great. She makes everything seem so real. I must tell you it is really short. It also involves some of the most common horses and is very modern. If you love horses, you'll love this book!!!
