Dark Celebration **Finally A Celebration of the Series!**

I have been reading this series faithfully. I did however stop because the stories were just the same over and over just with different characters. I love Mikhail and Raven, they are my favorite couple of the series. I read the back of this book and could not resist. Mikhail is the focus of this book again.
Raven decides to have a Christmas Celebration and all the Carpathian warriors and couples are invited to the Carpathian Mountains for the celebration. All the characters and their loved ones are there. Each chapter tells a little about each one.
Mikhail's heart weighs heavy with his duties, but sees to it that the celebration goes off without a hitch for Raven. I loved the part of him asking Gregori (the dark one) to be Santa.....I was laughing out loud as I read this book. There are so many funny parts. It is not like any other of her books in this series.
Shea gives birth to a son, Savannah is pregnant with twins, Tempest is pregnant, Sara is also. It is nice to see that life is moving on with these characters. Raven is at a time she can conceive, although that story was not told (a little disappointing to me) as Mikhail wants another child. And Julian and Desari decide to try and have a baby.
The celebration at the Inn, is wonderful, and filled with magic.
I really enjoyed this book and hope that Christine continues to tell the stories of these other wonderful characters. We have to know if these women have their babies. I will read on!

Interesting Carpathian tale

The Carpathians and their human companions come together to celebrate Christmas. However, the clan knows there is not that much to rejoice in this Yuletide season. Fear of extinction is real as there is already a very low birth rate, many are stillborn and even many of those who enter the world alive die as the infant mortality rate is high. On top of that their demonic, vampiric and hunter enemies are mounting serious well planned assaults to eliminate females. Prince Mikhail Dubrinsky worries that he cannot save his people as he knows the evidence is overwhelming that they are an endangered species. He also fears for the safety of his soulmate Raven and their daughter Savannah, but still Mikhail wants more offspring not just to procreate but because he cherishes his two females and wants more to love and nurture. --- His bother Jacques is also concerned especially over the safety of his ¿lifemate¿ Shea, a former human medical doctor, who carries his child. Other Carpathian males are just as worried about the females and the children, but none understands that a betrayal that abets a dark mage may prove more dangerous to survival than the vampires, hunters, and demons that seek to leave the species extinct. --- Though well written, DARK CELEBRATION feels more like a transition book setting the table for future delights. The plot is thin and no couple takes charge of the story line. Still this is well written and will help newcomers obtain a deep understanding of Carpathian customs, lifestyles, and natural enemies while long term fans will know that the treats of 'Dark Desserts' (recipes included) will soon follow with future tales. --- Harriet Klausner

Another Feehan Experience

I have written reviews of author Feehan's work before, and I am not a critic to pull punches, but though this story line started off really good, it ended in disaster. Personally I don't find objectionable problems with an author who writes vampire novels, but this author tends to take her romance to the extreme. I recommend this style of novel for those who like 'kink' and this series should be in the adult 'porn' section rather than in a romance shelf where just any reader can find it. Personally, I feel that you should be over twenty-one (21) to read author Feehan's books; consider that enjoys writing her characters in rape-fantasy situations.

This is a very offense subject and don't feel it should be a standard aspect of any novel constantly in every single series. This novel is particularly offensive due to the fact that there is a sixteen year old girl in the storyline that rather than make sure she's protected and has a choice of her own on who she gives her life and body to; again Feehan writes where the female's in the storyline have no choice and either through force or magic they end up spreading their legs and giving their virginity to whomever at the time the author feels they belong to. Personally I feel that the concept of ownership went out of 'fade' when we did away with slavery, but evidently author Feehan hasn't gotten the message that we've moved into the Twenty-First Century, and is still writing in the Dark Ages.

If you're an avid reader of vampire novels such as I, I suggest everyone boycott this novel series and send a clear message to the author that this sort of romance doesn't belong on the shelf with real romance books, and she really needs to look into the porn industry if this is really the way she views romance and sexuality.

Truly Captivating!!!

This is one of the best book in the Dark series!
A celebration of their race, of how they can come together as one now that they are growing. A celebration of Christmas and a new future for the Carpathian people.
I love how all of the characters come back into this book. Every hardship that they carried is brought together as the people learn of each other. Some females have limitations with their sociable behaviors and it is interesting to see how they come together as one, going against the solitude that most have lived through their whole lives, and banding as one with a single purpose: Life.
New characters come into play too. Dimitri and Skyler are introduced as a Carpathian couple, though they were introduced initially in the Dark Legend book. And also, another couple comes into play as Christine introduces Manolito De La Cruz and Mary Ann.
This book packs on action as, even though all the Carpathians have banded together, their enemies seems to come in and tear them apart. Their enemies are also banding together and now they are faced with a greater threat, and maybe even the beginning of a war.

I have read this book just as much as I have read Dark Prince. I found it captivating around every turn of the page and it is good to see how all the couples interact together, as they come as one.

It's her wonderful titles that get me

I love reading her books. The men are sooooo mysterious and sexy. The women are strong minded characters as well. The Reunion was great!!! Her next book comes out in September. Can't wait....

She just keeps doing it...

Once again Mrs. Feehan has given us another special book. I loved catching up w/ the old characters; And some of the cooking scenes w/ our Carpathian men were hilarius! And, to top it all off, she gives us a new couple & the beginnings of Dimitri and Skyler's story. Another great book in the Dark Series!

Another Hit for Christine Feehan....

I have read all of Christine Feehan's Dark Series and this book was the icing on the cake...I had forgotten about some of the different story lines and this was taking a trip down memory lane revisiting characaters from her other books. I love it and recommend it as a definite read for all of Christine's fans. I cannot wait for her next release. I also have read all of her Ghostwalker series and recommend ALL of them, as they are actually my favorite of all her series. I have the Drake Sisters series sitting on my shelf waiting on me to read. Don't wait, go out and buy this book and read today!

Great Book!!!!

All of our favorite characters show up to celebrate. This is such a fun book! I loved it! A gem of book for the series.

Excellent

This was by far the best of her series. I've been waiting for her to start bringing some of the characters together. The ending kid of left me hanging...I hope to create more books. I would like to see more of the characters getting together more often.

Great Holiday Read

This book was terrific. It brought all the characters frim previous books for the celebration of Christmas! Itotally loved it!

Love this series

I have read all of the Dark series and even though I'm not quite finished reading this one, I'm looking forward to the next. As always, Christine Feehan does a great job with her details and keeping the stories going. It's wondeful reading.

You do have to read the series to get to the best and last Book - I read this entire series and loved it. Some of the books felt like deja vu reading, but most were well written, and entertaining.

If you are reading the series this is a must read

I absolutely loved this book. I have just very recently starting reading this series and I have not been able to stop reading. And then I got to this one. In all the series I have read, I have never came across a book that covers all the characters. It was GREAT, I found myself laughing, concerned and as always compelled to keep reading until it was done after 2 night. I did not want it to end. Thank you Christine for your writings, it has really brought a joy to my reading experiences. T

This was the book that introduced me to the series. It was given to me for christmas and i havent looked back since.

Incredible.

I don't think she can top this. It was awesome, action, love, it had everthing. Natayla needs her own series. I love that the women are strong and can fight now. Wonderful. It did not disappoint.

Dark Celebration makes me want to celebrate!!!

Dark Celebration was a wonderful tale of the carpathian characters reuniting in the Carpathian mountains for Christmas.Mikhail Dubrinsky still is worried about the possible extinction of his people and is burdened with the huge task of locating the answer to the reason why it is so difficult for carpathian women to keep and birth children.Through the book i can honestly say that i could not put it down,truly,Christine's Dark novels have that amazing effect on the reader and it isn't easy to find authors who can write like that.There were so many witty and funny moments such as some of the lifemates trying to cook,i smiled when i read Tempest blowing up the stove and Desari failing at making roast!There were somber moments as well such as Skyler meeting her lifemate Dimitri and Manolito still on the verge of turning but meets Mary-Ann Delaney.As always i have nothing but praise for Christine's novels and even though the theme was festive she kept the aspects of romance between each couple and never faltered in writing about the semi-battle scenes.Loved it!

Dark Celebration

This was such a GREAT book. Anyone who has read any of the dark series will enjoy this book. Though it might be hard to keep up if you haven't read at least a few of the previous books in this series as it brings in all the characters from the previous 16 books. This is by far my favorite so far!

I love reading this series!

I know that this is a little late but I just read this book and loved it very much it fit into the series she is writing to keep the story going even though each book has an ending with certain characters. I came across her series awhile back and started to read each one. I am know up to this book and find that if anyone picked up one of the Dark series they would find it impossiable to put down and not want to read the whole series. Christine Feehan keeps the reader on the edge ready for anything and you want to read more of her books.
