Jury duty is the solemn responsibility of every citizen. Juries are the rock of the criminal justice system and provide the individual an opportunity not only to support and benefit from that system, but to participate in it. It was never intended, however, that the jury become its victim.
In 1982, following six weeks of trial, a jury of seven men and five women convictged and sentenced to death, Alphonse Fabrizi, Pittsburgh's mob Godfather. Sixteen years later, those jurors are being systematically and brutally murdered.
This tense fictional story follows Jake Steele, a private investigator, and Mel Tripp, a Pittsbcurgh Homicide Detective, through a complicated and dangerous investigation that changes the lives of both men forever.

I was completely enthralled from beginning to end. If every book I read was this addictive, I would get nothing else done. Thanks, Don!!!
I don't read books too often but after reading the first chapter I could not put it down. The fast pace kept my attention which is why it only took me three days to read.
A good mystery with interesting characters will hold my attention. Couple this with a well written and intriguing plot and you have a story that will keep you turning the pages. A very enjoyable read that kept me up late to see where the next twist in the plot would lead.
Lots of intreigue. Lots of action, and a long list of visuals designed to make you gasp. Don does an excellent job of keeping you interested in the plot. Howard Orr.
Dark Covenant pulls the reader deeper and deeper into the depths of revenge murders. Why are jurors dying sixteen years after the Fabrizi trial? How many will die and why? Is there a pattern to the carnage? Mel Tripp and Jake Steel work together to put the pieces of this thousand piece puzzle together and yet the methodical killings continue. A very intricate plot masterfully done. A great read!
I read "Dark Covenant" and it was very good and enjoyable! I was in suspense the entire time, and never came close to guessing who the culprit was. I could not put the book down. I am anxiously awaiting your next book. Howard Bruce, Virginia
This is one scary story. The characters are all good, and you have absolutely no idea where this is going to end. When it does end, you'll be looking at the back page for Don's next book announcement. We all sometimes think in the back of our minds "Yea, if I was attacked, I could probably take care of myself and probably look pretty cool besides". Well, after reading this novel you may not feel quite so cocksure.
AN ENGROSSING THRILLER! READERS BEWARE ¿ E. T. Lewis¿ latest book ¿Dark Covenant¿ is a true sleep-stealer ¿ I just couldn¿t put it down until I read the next chapter, and the next chapter after that and the next chapter, etc., etc., etc. And mystery books are not my genre. The story is exciting throughout. The characters are believable and real. The reader can¿t wait to see what¿s waiting around the corner for them and him. Keep 'em coming, E. T. Kim Cooper
