For Each, There Could Be Only One: They came from the darkest places: secluded monasteries, the Carpathian mountains, galaxies under siege. They were men with the blackest pasts-warriors, vampire monks, leaders of armies-but whose passions burned like dying stars. They had one purpose: to find those women who fulfilled them, completed them, and made them rage with a fire both holy and profane. They sought soul mates whose touch consumed them with desire, yet whose kisses refreshed like the coolest rain. And each man knew that for him there was only one true love-and in finding her, he would find salvation.

This short story isn't worth the price;-( It seems that Christine Feehan world renowned writer of the "DARK SERIES" now is specializing in reselling her stories two and three times over while being incorpirated in various anthologies and then selling them as singles. Her anthologies sell for $ 7.99 to $9.99. And her is a short story for $6.99. Evidently Ms. Feehan Isn't rich enough and is ripping off her readers for extra cash. Don't get me wrong I love reading her books, but I hate spending my hard earned money on a story I already have (i.e.:"The Only One", an anthology which has the story "Dark Descent" in it for $7.99)

I love the Dark Series and Christine Feehan's writing style. The downside being that her books are short and the series is expensive. This is not a book, it is a short story and is a total rip off for $6.99. She and Barnes and Noble should lower the price on this or offer it for free. What a disappointment. J.R. Ward is one of few paranormal writers that give her readers a real book for the money. Miss Feehan seems to follow Sherrilyn Kenyon's style of getting the readers hooked and then ripping them off.

while i agree that it isn't worth the price for only 100 pages.... i really wish that people would review the book not the price! complain to Barnes and Noble, or to the publisher. Or maybe here's an idea.... do not buy it!
go to your local library, borrow from a friend, etc.. i hate seeing a great authors rating go down because of price issues. Normally i would give her books five stars, but as this is so short and the plot is a bit redundant from previous works i only gave four. i must also say that even though it is short i LOVE reading the individual stories about characters i have come to love!

As always, she has captured the spirit of the Carpathians in every word she writes! The only bad thing about her books is, there is always an ending!!! lol I hate to get to the end... yet relish every word getting there!

I agree I am so tired of buying an already having it because of the publication date.or name change. it is loosing her money.. at this time I am not purchasing this one an have been burnt to many times rebuying the same book. I love her writing but am so confused when a new book comes out! I will never again pre order her books! Their is so much more with the Dark Series that could be wrote about an I feel it is just loosing fans! I could not wait for a new book in the dark series, now I wait an second guess an read the reviews - today I just ordered a different series by a different writer. I never will preorder with her books again an it is sad to have to spend time an money to check an see if this is the old bait an switch it is getting to much. Thanks for the reviews saved me $6.99- sad... that this has continued to happen with the marketing of her books.. but have found some great other autors an series that keep it real..

I don't have a nook.....I don't want a nook.....this is discouraging that my choice to read this book after reading all the others has been taken away. Let's talk about how much money is involved even in paperback going alll the way back to the beginning.

Always love her books. Haven't found one yet that was easy to put down. Find myself reading her books over and over. Must have for vampire lovers

I love this story line. It has need, want, greed, hate, passionate desire to the brink of pain, Which ends in undeniable love, unfathomable love, uncontroled possesion.. After an injury and surgery, then my job closed it doors, these books, thankS to my children, have kept me pretty much sane! I love these books, they take me to places I know I will never go "in this lifetime".... KEEP WRITING CHRISTINE..GOD BLESS YA.................
