    1st book good

The first book was great and intresting. This one seems like a cheesy love story where Bane is supposedly romantic but he really just seems like a horney emo teen.

    First book was better

900 pages starts to drag with useless explaining or doubled explanations... i wanted to finish the book but after 500 pages it started to bore me... i can safely say i will not read the next book.

Basically a positive review for Southwell

TC Southwell writes sci-fi and fantasy stories suitable for YA and adult readers.

Two things that I love about this author; 1. The fighting scenes (in all titles written) are fraking good. The details let you see the fight as you read and really get my heart pumping. 2. The subtle romance factor between characters (again, in all books the author has written) are so satisfying. YA need not fear inappropriateness, adult readers need not fear cheesy interludes.

I have read and reread, and reread, The Queen's Blade series and Slave Empire. I have started all the other series, including this one and I have to say, Southwell does not disappoint. I would gladly buy any and all of the books written by this author.

Try all of the series, most of the first in a series are free. So, in the unlikely event you are not interested, only a little time is spent.
