Overview

A beautiful woman releases a Carpathian prisoner from his bonds—and unleashes his appetite—in a tale of unexpected desire from “the queen of paranormal romance”(USA Today)…

He is Riordan…Carpathian male. Immortal. Seer. Now trapped and caged, his honor is compromised by his captors. They’re in his mind. They’re in his blood. And not one can withstand his desire for revenge.

She is Juliette…A beautiful activist devoted to the liberation of animals from the foul and humid confines of secret jungle lab. What she has stumbled upon is an unexpected prisoner like no other she has ever seen. Or touched.

She will release him from his bonds. He will release her from her inhibitions. Both have a voracious appetite that needs to be sated. And tonight their dark hunger will be fed…

    more from this reviewer

A reprint of the Carpathian novella featuring Riordan De La Cruz

A reprint of the Carpathian novella featuring Riordan De La Cruz and Juliette originally in the Hot Blooded anthology. Set in the rain forest of South America, we meet Juliette, an animal activist of sorts, who has been liberating animals from a secret lab deep in the forest. It is there that she finds Riordan, captured, chained, and injured, and frees him. Riordan is an ancient Carpathian hunter, and the first of the De La Cruz brothers that we meet in the series. We are also introduced to some of the jaguar people, an interesting group who continue to play an important role in the series. An entertaining read from one of my favorite paranormal series.

    As usual Feehan makes magic

I loved the story, however, a bit too short.
Christine knows how to weave love, lust as well as the
    darkness into a compelling storyline.

    Short story.

Reprint and not even a full novel. Thid is the second time I've felt riped off by a Feehan book. I think this will be my last Dark novel. The story line has been going downhill anyway.

It's time to throw in something different

All of the stories in the Dark series read the same way. Tortured soul meets mate they get really sappy and end up together. The end.
