Last night I finished Dark Matter Heart and I have to say I loved it.The start of the book got me hooked right away, the start of the story was a little slow and I know thats because there was a story to be told but that did not last long. About 20 pages in I was very happy I was reading. It was a new story about vampires that I had not read before and was on the edge of my seat the whole time waiting to see what was next. The story of Cor was cool, and the thing I found out were very interesting. There was action, a little love and lots of new adventure. I am very excited to get to read the next book, i really want to find more out about Cor and his new friends and life that he has now made for him self. This is a must read story and I am sure you will love it, good for young adults and adults too!! Check m out at Paranormal Book Club on Face book for more great books!!!!

Dark Matter Heart reminded me of one my favorite series The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. I totally enjoyed Dark Matter Heart it was a light easy read that was suspenseful and kept my attention. I like Cor's and Taylor's character. This was another refreshing novel that had the best friend accepting that their best friend may be a supernatural creature. I like how Nathan made it seem like you were guessing between if Cor was a vampire or just had a weird allergy to the sun. I really liked Taylor and his geekyness for science and criminology.I really have a soft spot for geeks. The suspense of the murders around town reminded me of the many murder mystery TV shows and I liked that I personally didn't see who the murderer was and the shocking twist at the end of the story. I'm hoping that Nathan will continue Cor's story as I really enjoyed it.

By my rating, you can see that I didn't really care for this book....and here is why:
The book is primarily narrated from the point of view of the MC, and at times the author will randomly start narrating from the POV of someone else, in the middle of the page, without warning.
All the action scenes, feature...Stabbing! And Punching! And action words with exclamation points after each one!!!
On the first day of school Cor makes a friend, who of course is one of those people who know everything, how to hack into police computers and how to hack into phones, with unlimited access to lab facilities, and x-ray machines, and can do blood testing...just like every other 16 year old boy we know?
The characters personalities don't seem to stay true to themselves, at first Cor is written as this more introspective loner, who tries to stay away from everyone, and stay invisible. But the second day he's telling all his secrets to his new friend.
I didn't see the story line of the antagonist coming, there aren't really that many hints given at why he's being stalked. So that was good, the reader got a moment of the big reveal.
I felt if Cor had been given a little more depth, it would have made the book better. His character came off as cocky, I wished he would have had more feeling about some of the things going on in his life, growing up without a Dad, a more stark sense of isolation, anger at the situation, or a sense of morality and justice? Something? I think would have given this book more of a reason to be involved with the characters.
Along with some editing - no switching narratives in the middle of scenes without telling the reader!

I picked it up for the title. Interesting book, I liked what the author did with the characters. The protagonist is humble but not an arrogant jerk. Considering how some people seem to overdo all the hype on supernatural and vampires, this was surprisingly a quick and enjoyable book! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Not your typical vampire book---includes teachers--teenagers in a fascinating story--with a surprise ending!! But it's shorter than you think since lot of page numbers are skippedWas this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I had a littl trouble staying connected with the story at first, but the writer seemed to hit his/her stride quickly & i enjoyed the story. I am way past my fascination with vampires but would enjoy reading follow-ups by this author! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I really liked this book! But I think it got out of hand a little at the end when they defeated the bad guy and when Traicy tried to sort of get Caitlin back. Other than that, a good book. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I loved this book for several reasons. First the story comes from the boy's point of view which is different than most stories.
The actual plot was great and kept me on the edge of my seat.
The characters were well developed.
I can't wait to read the other books in the series.

For reasons beyond my control, (technology¿ after all is only as smart as its user) my original review (in July) at was not posted. So here I sit again in an attempt to post (fingers crossed) armed with a new computer (that seems to hate me just as much); wish me luck.
To put it simply in three words ¿I loved it!¿
Yes, I know it quiet the red-carpet affair for one (especially me) to claim to love a book but I did. Why you ask? Straightforward, it was the point of view. Nowadays the book stores, e-store and libraries are bogged down with sups stories from the female point of view. Let¿s face fact, sometimes a lady just want to know how the guy sees things. And young men need some way to relate to the young ladies reading Twilight, Vampire Academy and other related sups books.
I know romance from a guy¿s p-o-v, who would have thought? Hey, it worked for HB¿s Vladimir Todd Series as well as FM¿s Bloodthirsty, and it works for Nathan Wrann¿s Dark Matter Heart as well.
Additionally, it¿s a clever new twist to the whole sups pop culture that every young guy can relate to (I¿m speaking of the love) and every girl who loves sups stories should read.
Overall, Dark Matter Heart was a great debut that will hook all readers and the male p-o-v will definitely stand out. It contains its own unique set of characters, and a plot. Some might argue that it lends ideas from other popular books. As an avid reader I can accept that but to me all books reflect each other in some fashion. DMH is a classic tale of coming of age with a supernatural bite that even the guys will secretly love.
READ!! READ!! READ!!! What else can I say?
