For those of you complaining that this is just a re-issue and that you wasted your money buying it: READ THE OVERVIEW FIRST! It says right in the synopsis and on the cover that some of the stories were previously published! However, it clearly states in the begining of the overview, "Christine Feehan revists and EXPANDS her short novella Dark Descent." That means it is an old story but with new content. She's added at least 100 new pages to Dark Descent making it longer and explaining a few more things that weren't in the original story line. It's not false advertising, it's not the author trying to make more money, it's just an opportunity to publishing two of her short stories together for the convenience of her readers while also expanding a story she felt should have been longer the first time. If your happy with the original story, fine but don't give bad reviews because you didn't pay attention to what you were buying. LEARN TO READ THE OVERVIEW CAREFULLY PEOPLE!!!

Just a new title for 2 books already published. The overview leads you to believe its a new book. Don't waste $7 like I did.

This is without a doubt a reprint of Dark Descent. It has been extended and added to. Think of this as the unabridged version and the orininal as the Abridged version. Its a good read but not much plot detail was added. You get everything you need from the original Dark Descent but this gives more decscription. Dont buy if you are looking for a new book, however it is good for those people looking to revisit old favorites.

Dark Nights is are-issue of two of CF's short stories Dark Dream, which is one of my absolute favorite storys in the storys in the series. Falcon and sara are one of my favorite couples in the series, at times the story was emotional and gripping it made you want to cry. I loved Dark Dreams so much it wasworth paying the 7$ to get it on my nook alone. Christine's short story Dark Desent is also in Dark Nights. To be honest I read the original version years ago and it was not one of my favorites, however i love the new expanded veriin it feels much richer and more fleshed out. I actually found myself liking the characters more in this version with also adds more to the overall plot of the series this bookis definitely a must have for CF fans.

Lets just recap VERY calmly here people....... from overview: "author Christine Feehan revisits and expands her classic novella Dark Descent, bringing to breathtaking new life her story of an immortal Carpathian hunter" "Also includes the previously published Carpathian short story Dark Dream" However unless you are a member of Christine's web site you would have not had all the details about the book the rest of us have had. The description and chatter about this book went on for days into months. For me, i am super glad Christine re-issued these two stories. I have previously read my aunt's older copies, but i have waited a whole year to finish my collection because i learned she was releasing these two novella's together on her web site!! I can't wait to receive my copy!!

Traian & Joie - Falcon & Sara wonderful stories both but dont waste your money on re reads - if a new sentence or paragraph or chapter was added its still not worth it - this a Re-released do-over with a very misleading overview

Well done!! As members we learned from Christine's Site that she was very unhappy with one of her short stories. She was given the opportunity by her publishers and editors to "finish" Dark Descent. As stated in the overview above, I also feel she did a tremendous job bringing new life to this wonderful novella with the extra 100 pages she was allowed!! The icing on the cake was including Dark Dream (previously released in Dark Dreamers)!! Also when i was going through all the reviews posed, it was a little disappointing to read that the book was rated with one star because of technical problems with your tablets/e-readers.... I guess what i am getting at is why a book was even rated when it could not be read?? The negative review should have been left for the device that was being used or the company who issued the pre-ordered e-book. I just feel that it is not right that an author is punished because of technical errors....

I love reading about the Dark Carpathians. And, now I have started her Drake Sisters series as well. Her people are strong and their world is quite unique as well. If you haven't read this series before, I invite you to try it. This is the lastest book in a long series of delicious and sensual love. It is also about the struggle to remain honorable through centuries of existance without meeting your lifemate. Their lifemate saves them, by completing their soul with the light that is their other half. The warriors sent out into the world to protect the humans from the least honorable, evil of their kind. They are tasked with finding and killing the vampires who are their long time or long lost warriors who have never found their lifemate and have given in to their dark side to become evil, bloodsucking vampire monsters.

This book was so good . The added pages to Dark Descent enriched the story so much. I had read the shorter version and I was just awed at how good this was. Christine Feehan is still my number one author.

Dark descent brings us Joie and her siblings Gabrielle and Jubal. Joie os lifemate to Traian an ancient sent to protect Asia. This book is important as it introduces us to the Mages and the ice cave. We also get to catch up with Gary and see how much he has grown. Jubal and Gabrielle I believe will become important later on just not sure how. I wish the story was longer so we could meet the mage parent and get a better understanding of this subplot.

LOL! You tell'em sister! The "Overview" clearly states it is an extension of "Dark Desent" just 100 pages added to the story. So....question. Who the hell buys a book & don't bother to find out what the hell you're buying?!

I have NO idea why you people can read books but can't seem to suss out clearly marked descriptions!! It seems like everytime I read reviews for re-releases there are at least 10 posts just griping about being ripped off. Get a grip & if you're that pissed start reading another author.

I'm late to the party but for all those with gave a 1 star rating - learn to read!!! This Overview is very clear there is a re-write to the book. Having purchased the 'updated' stories, I am thrilled she had the chance to go back and expand on the story. Much better than the original short story.
