The Movie is Better, but this is not bad

The movie made from this book is my favorite. The songs named in the book as being played from time to time have been changed in the movie to music more in keeping with the feelings of the characters, I believe. The physical description of the hero in the book does not describe Humphrey Bogart who played him. The movie hero is much more attractive than the one in the book. It is difficult to imagine the person of the book's description being the subject of interest and ultimately affection of the heroine, Lauren Bacall. The book has some extraneous material which thankfully is left out of the movie. I don't know if I would have liked the book as much if it wasn't for the movie. Of course both are a bit dated, but any romantic will like them both.
