Overview

The five Kingdom Keepers and their core friends have uncovered a startling truth: Maleficent and the Overtakers (Disney villains) are plotting a catastrophic event that could have repercussions far beyond the world of Disney.

Aboard the Disney Cruise Line's inaugural passage through the new Panama Canal, the Keepers and their holograms uncover a puzzle hidden within the pages of a stolen journal. The point of that puzzle will reveal itself in the caves of Aruba, the zip lines of Costa Rica, and the jungles of Mexico. A destructive force, dormant for decades, is about to be unleashed. The five Kingdom Keepers are to be its first victims.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Jessica R. McCort
This edition, book six, in the “Kingdom Keepers” series finds the group of teens known as DHIs aboard the Disney Dream, the premier cruise ship in Disney’s fleet. While many children would find this cruise the vacation of a lifetime, the DHIs are running for their lives from the villainous Maleficent, her accomplice the Evil Queen, and a much darker force stowed away in the ship’s bowels. The novel’s action unfolds around a seemingly indecipherable puzzle, locked away for years in a secret journal that has recently come to light. It is up to the DHIs to solve the puzzle faster than the Overtakers, save the Dream, and preserve the Disney empire—a task that may prove fatal for some. Riding on the rise of American culture’s obsession with the Disney Villains, the “Kingdom Keepers” books are fun, action-packed reads. They are filled with details about real places that children can visit and or identify with, which is a major contribution to the books’ magic (albeit some parents and educators may balk at the marketing angle here). While the cohort of characters can sometimes become confusing and Ridley’s fast-paced writing attends more to action than character development, this series (and this addition to it) is a great option for kids who have read other series such as the The Lightning Thief, Harry Potter, The Sisters Grimm, etc. Reviewer: Jessica R. McCort, Ph.D.; Ages 8 to 12.

So much better than the last one!!! Amazingly good, the story may start slow but it picks up as it goes on and is just great. It is not as much as an easy read as the previous one and does become slightly confusing in some places. I recomend this book to everybody.

We are big Disney fans - my son was introduced to this series at Disney World and started reading this series in Elementray School (now in 7th). This series is his summer must read for school...but he usually has the newest additon read in days after release. I read right along with him, we discuss the books and when we go to Disney World we look for things from the book. Very detailed to the actual park (before remodel of certian areas) Great family read.
