This is my first book from this author, and my first book about necromancers. It was a free book, and I was completly enthralled with it. It includes, fairies, vampires, werewolves, etc.
You really need to read this book if this genre is your thing. 477 pages, and hard to put down. I am definitely hoping for a sequal, in the meantime, I will try some of Ms. Hoffman's other books.

I loved this book. It had everything: necromancers, werewolves, fairies, witches, demons, and ghosts. There was a bit of romance, but it wasn't a boring case of insta-love; it was developed over time, and the couple didn't actually get together at the end. I love it when books don't wrap up the love problems and let it spill over into the next book.

This book was interesting, even though it was pretty standard for a paranormal young adult book. The main character was a little boring, but she was relatable enough that she drew me in. Her entire life was turned upside down when she finds out she’s a necromancer-though she doesn’t deny it, since she’s seen ghosts all her life and knew something was wrong with her-and she doesn’t just wake up the next morning well adjusted. She’s scared of her powers and has trouble controlling them. While training, she meets a fairy, a vampire, a half-demon, and a werewolf. I liked the werewolf love interest because he wasn’t the typical abusive boyfriend many young adult books are promoting today. He was a jerk, and he was rude, and he slept around, and the main character hated him for that. There is absolutely NO INSTA-LOVE in this book, and it was one of my favorite things about this book. That and the heartbreak and the action. I can’t wait to read the next book when it’s published.

What is wrong with people these days?
This book is not copying Kelley Armstrong's series. There is no giant corporation run by supernatural beings. There is no genetic experimentation to revive extinct species. This book has a handful of supernatural types that have been used by probably thousands of authors over the years--that's it. Just because this book has a necromancer as the main character doesn't mean it's copying someone else's work. This book is amazing and it is nothing like Kelley Armstrong's books. Seriously, stop comparing every book to something else that has been published just because the very base of the book is similar. Her books do not all have the same story line, jeez. They're all really different from each other. Her vampires have different rules and weaknesses, her bad guys are all different, and her love interests are not all jerks. If you didn't actually read her books, don't review them.
Zombie Island is NOT like the Walking Dead just because it has zombies in it. Daray Hall is NOT like Twilight just because it features vampires. The Arena Wars is NOT like the Hunger Games just because there's a scene where two characters have to fight to survive.
Signed, a dedicated fan who actually read these books.

I feel in love with the depth of the characters and would recommend this book to everyone. It had all the makings of a good story, including suspense, action, paranormal activiy and action. I can't wait to read the next one in the series!

    Good book

I liked the fact that the main girl can fight she accepts the fact she isn't entirely normal. Obviously after learning that there is more to her power than she believes she then wants to go back to being semi-normal. That got annoying, and the fact that she cried a lot. Still, the book was fun to read, it was an easy read and it was free, I recommend this book to everybody.

My friends and I have read all of this author’s books, and they thought this one was boring compared to the others, but I have to disagree. There wasn’t as much action, but there was plenty of drama, romance, and internal angst. I liked the main character and her friends, and I liked the powers they all had. I loved the kidnapping, the rescue, and final battle, and I loved how much emotional pain the main character suffered. I found this book to be very well-written and believable.

This book was good. It wasn’t anything super special, but I liked the characters, and I liked their powers. There wasn’t a ton of action in this one, but it was still well-written and I felt like I was there. This book focused more on drama. The relationship between the two main characters develops from a hateful one to one that might be love, and I like that they weren’t resolved by the end of the first book. One thing I’ve noticed about this author is she isn’t scared of causing her main characters pain. They’re always betrayed, or seriously injured, or even killed in some cases, and I think their mental, emotional, and physically suffering makes them more relatable.

    Luv it!

This was a great book and I cannot wait to read the next one
It had a great plot with detailed characters and a good background story
I really want to read some of Samantha Hoffman's other series like The Arena Wars and Daray Hall, for I really believe that they also have great stories
    Great job on this book
Could you make your other books free, so some of us can buy them.
    Thanks

It sounds exactly the same as the summoning by kelly armstrong. In fact its exactly the same BUT kelly armstrongs is waaaaayyyyy better. Plus, all your storues have the same story line. Theres a jerk and the chik falls in love with him (mabe not the arena wars) but still, think of something origional and stop taking other peoples stuff
