I read a lot of books, but every once in a while one stands out above the rest. This is one of them. Although the entire Jeff Resnick series is great - this one really shines. Jeff Resnick is a man who nearly lost  his life  in a mugging and this near-death experience gives him psychic abilities.  He doesn't want to call himself psychic - in fact he's very humble  about it. He lives a regular life in Buffalo, NY with his brother Richard and his wife Brenda, but every once in a while something draws him into a mystery. This book involves an expensive yacht his brother purchased at an auction - just what is its deadly secret? If you're from western NY you'll also enjoy the references to the area. L.L. Bartlett crafts her characters  and setting in a way that the story comes alive. Not only will you  enjoy the mystery,  but you will feel like you are there. After a while I forgot that I was turning pages - I was so fascinated by the story. It's hard for me to find words to suitably express how great the book is. It is one of the few books I can say that I loved and will definitely re-read. L.L. Bartlett is a master storyteller. You don't necessarily have to read the series in order. If you've never read any of them, start with this one - you'll love it too!

I really love these books, I started reading these because a friend said they were about my hometown. But Jeff, Richard, Brenda and Maggie worm their way into your heart. If you haven't read any and love mystery you will enjoy these. Happy reading

the story of jeff resnick continues. having been mugged and left for dead, jeff has an empathic mind. he sees things, but not the whole picture. his brother richard has purchased an expensive boat. it was collected in a drug bust. there is a secret in this boat, but can jeff figure out what it is before it takes a nasty toll on all concerned? this story held me in its grip until the very end. the jeff resnick stories are filled with mystery and family. richard is married and about to become a father for the very first time. her sister evie and her nephew arrive to visit. da marr is a bad seed, and evie is trying to help him focus. da marr gets in trouble and hauls jeff into it. jeff doesn't realize what kind of trouble they are in, but when it happens, he tries to save both of them. it involves a boat, falls, and a hulk of a ship stuck on the falls, do they get saved? does da marr realize his path is the wrong one? does richard's wife have the baby? do evie and da marr go home? i will not give away the ending, but i can guarantee you will not put this story down until you have read the ending!!!

I could hardly wait for this new LL Bartlett book to come out. I have been checking weekly for the last few months and it was well worth the wait. Unfortunately, It will be a while before the next one is written and published. I will be looking forward to reading it. This book cost $5.00 and was worth every cent. It is 1,035 pages and the editing is 99% correct. This novel is a mystery about a family in crisis. There is a rather insipid murder, some mild violence, a reference to sex, a touch of religion and perhaps a damn or two. There are a lot of twists and turns, a plot full of suspense, a touch of esp, love of family and a great ending. I have read all of LL Bartlett's books and there has only been one, I considered mediocore. His wife is also a good author and they have written several books together. I would suggest reading this series in the order of publication for a better flow, but they are stand alone books. The first book in this series was free. I highly recommend these novels. For both men and women readers, ages 16 and up. AD
