Darkangel (Book One of the Darkangel Series)

I just finished The Darkangel Trilogy and there is one word in my opinion that descibes the book "Different". This book was not what i excepted at all. I'm more into the whole young adult paranormal-romance books, and this is not it. This book has more action than romance. In the first book alone there is absolutly NO romance. The second has a little and the third has some in the end. But if you re one of those people that love the Twilight Saga, Morganville Vampire Series, House of Night Series, Modern Faerie Tale Series, ect.... this book is not for you. Unless you like a seires that doesn't have a absolutly happy ending,unlike the Twilight Saga ect... i don't really recommend it.

This book is about a girl named Aeriel that wanted to get captured by the darkangel because he took her friend as his 13th wive. But once he brings her to his castle, he made her the servant for his 13 wives, known as the wraiths. During this time she helps the wraiths and the duarough, Talb. And when he sends her on a quest to defeat the Darkangel, she must overcome many obsticals, inculding to find the meaning of the rime that Talb made her memorize, to accomplish the quest.

This book has many twists that you won't see coming but overall is a good book if you like this sort of thing. The next two book, The Gathering of Gargoyles and The Pearl of the Soul of the World, is also very good and will keep you on the edge of the seat. So if you are a fan of these types of book then i say "Go for it!" but if you are more into the whole Supernatual-Romance books then this is not for you.

Dark Fairy-Tale

This book is an enchanting dark fairy-tale. It has a downtrodden but clever/courageous heroine, an evilly enchanted but irresistible prince, a wicked but hidden witch, brave guardian beasts and a strange but beautiful world created by ancients. The plot is solid but fanciful. The writing is good and often lyrical. The pace alternates between moderate and fast. It's the first installment in a dark fairy-tale trilogy. If you are looking for something that deviates from the normal fantasy but still entertains, then perhaps this story is for you. I certainly liked it.

A Great Book

When i first saw The Darkangel i thaought it was not going to be that good ,but i picked it up at the book store and read it in one night i was on the edge of my seat until the verry end there was a liitle romance in it but you never know you have to read the next book to find out what happens next.

It was just a normal day for Aeriel, a servant, having to complete her chores. This time she was with her mistress, Eoduin, collecting flowers upon a mountain.

Both girls were told numerous times about the dangerous creatures that roam the earth, although neither ever took them seriously. But one story, the one Bomba had so urgently told them, about the Darkangel, the vampyre who takes the souls of innocent, beautiful women, became a reality for the girls.

While up high in the mountains, with very little capability to see or hear, the Darkangel swoops down to capture Eoduin.

This does not bode well with Eoduin's parents or Aeriel. Wanting to seek revenge, Aeriel goes back up the mountain to confront the Darkangel, only to discover that he captured Eoduin to become his thirteenth bride. Unable to complete her task, the Darkangel then captures Aeriel, not to become his bride but to be his servant.

Aeriel soon learns that once the Darkangel captures his fourteenth bride, his powers will be fully developed.

And so begins Aeriel's journey to not only save her life, but the lives and souls of the thirteen other girls -- and to prevent the Darkangel from seeking his last bride.

From the very beginning, readers will be enticed by the dark and mysterious world created by Pierce, where no one is safe. The author's great use of detail creates vivid images that will haunt the reader and leave them wanting more.

The Best Fantasy

I absolutely loved this book. This is the best fantasy I've ever read, and the best book. This book's a page-turner, every page just leaves you wanting to read more. It had really vivid imagery, and you just fall in love with the plot and the characters. I would really recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, adventure, and even romance. Even if you don't necessarily read fantasies or adventures, I can almost guarantee you'll love this book.

5 Stars times Infinity to the power of awesome (5X?^this book)

I really did love this book. If you have a chance to get the series DO IT. You will NOT regret it. The first book is really an excellent read, despite the ending. Honestly, it could have been less cheesy (Unless you LIKE cheesy. Then it was Kraft-Macaroni-and-Cheese Cheesy). The second book was predictable, but absolutely AMAZING in how well it was written out. Not to mention the ending on that one. My mind was blown to epic proportions. The third one is just straight up AWESOME. I swear this series made me cry in nearly every book. If you're tired of Happy Endings, this is your book. I was sick and tired of them, but I think this book of all deserved one, considering the whole situation I would prefer not to spoil for you all. You will laugh, cry, throw the book across the room in rage, pick it up and apologize, scream into your pillow at night, and want to pick it up and read it over and over again. Starting now. If not, then let the fury of the Lorie be unleashed upon you.

omg

this book is goood really good.i read all of it in one sitting. this book kept me on the edge of my seat. i haven't bought the second...yet. i can't believe that after everything the darkangel did to her and her friend she still loved him. i liked the part about the gargoyles they were always fun to read about. the one thing i don't get is what time period is it. past or future?

not that great

I was really excited about reading this but when I finished it I was so dissapointed. This was not what I thought it would be.

great book!!!

This book is amazing!!! A little confusing, but that¿s just because it¿s the first book to the series. I totally recommended it to any vampyre lover!!! It¿s really interesting how Aeriel thinks around The Dark Angel. She knows that there is something good inside of him. While serving to his 13 wives or ¿wraiths¿, she has only one choice. To kill the Dark Angel before he gets his 14th bride and comes in full power. She is astounded by his beauty and youth. This book really doesn¿t have an ending, just a new beginning. You can feel the connection Aerial has with him.

Eye Catching..

This book, the first one of the Darkangel Series is EXTRAORDINARY!! Aeriel is determined to save her mistress from the vampire darkangel, who doesn't fair Aeriel for her 'looks'.(crouching back, greenish/yellow hair, stumbling legs)

A better book than you!

This book is more wonderful than any book i have read besides Green eggs and Ham. If you love fantasy and a hot vampyre/angel boy you must read this book.

this was and amazing book. i read it while camping and finished it the day i bought it because i just couldnt set it down. the story pulls you in and lets your imagination take over. it's books like this one that keep reading fun (:

The trilogy of the DarkAngel are the books of the ages. There are almost no words to tell how...intoxicating these books are. Breathtaking Ethereal Everlasting...

The writing in this book was exquisite! It is a style of writing that is hard to find here in the modern world nowadays. The characters were very well described and developed, and detail was never left out. The story begins in the eyes of Aerial, a young house servant for one of the richest girls in their village named Eoduin. The reader will find them climbing up a mountain collecting horn flowers for a night wedding when Eoduin is snatched up by a dark angel. The dark angel is said to only reside in myth, in the childhood stores Aerial heard growing up. When Aerial sets out to rescue her companion she finds herself in a world of cruelty, where nothing is what it seems. She is struck by the magnificent dark angel¿s beauty and the slight goodness that she sees in him. As time goes by in the dark angel¿s magnificent castle, she learns of the dark secrets that the dark angel may be hiding. In the end she must decide between letting the dark angel live, which could mean sacrificing herself and the world, or destroying him. The thrilling adventure and fine lines between right and wrong will keep people enthralled in this book until the very end! I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for something a little different. This book will take you into a world unlike any other.

this is a great book! it is a must read. it deffinatly has interesting plot that makes you keep reading.

Fascinating and Satisfying!

If you have any love at all for fantasy, this is your dream book. Pierce cleverly and masterfully disguises the true identity of the people and the land they live in -- a secret which I plan to keep! Figure it out, and you'll be shocked. The story itself is beautiful and touching a tale of impossible and unwanted love, courage, and so much more. The story is well-paced and the plot intoxicating. The sort of language this book uses is a rare treat, and can only add to the wonderful spell Pierce weaves. I recommend this book to teens and up.
