There’s always been something a bit off about Perry Palomino. Though she’s been dealing with a quarter-life crisis and post-college syndrome like any other twentysomething, she’s still not what you would call “ordinary.” For one thing, there’s her past which she likes to pretend never happened, and then there’s the fact that she sees ghosts. Overview

Luckily for her, that all comes in handy when she stumbles across Dex Foray, an eccentric producer for an upcoming webcast on ghost hunters. Even though the show’s budget is non-existent and Dex himself is a maddening enigma, Perry is instantly drawn into a world that both threatens her life and seduces her with a sense of importance. Her uncle’s haunted lighthouse provides the perfect catalyst and backdrop for a horrific mystery that unravels the threads of Perry’s fragile sanity and causes her to fall for a man, who, like the most dangerous of ghosts, may not be all that he seems.

    Highly Recommend

My friend Andy asked me to check this book out and even though I thought it wasn't really the kind of book that I would beable to get into I started it with an open mind. Shortly into the book, I was spellbound. I felt like I was right there in the lighthouse experiencing the same things Perry and Dex were. I didn't want to put the book down. Once I got finished, I immediately had to get the next book and get started reading. Thank you Andy for asking me to read this and thank you Karina for writing such a great book.

So wanted to give this 5 stars

But the book is seriously plagued with typos. I found myself constantly editing this book in my head. If typos bother you run don't walk away. Also there was an excessive use of profanity. If that bothers you this book will be hard to read as it is nearly every sentence that some from of profanity is used and the F word in particular is constantly before you. Geez, the story could have stood on its own without so much graphic language. The story is interesting and held my attention but because of the language and typos I want be returning to the next installment.

    Could not finish

The book started out fairly well, but the editing mistakes made it difficult to continue. I got half way through it and lost interest.

    Seriously?

600 some odd pages of complete nonsense. I can't believe I wasted my time on this book. Character development and a few exciting moments were spoiled by an elementary level of writing and absence of plot. Don't waste your time.

Amateurish writing littered with grammar and spelling mistakes, and boring drivel. The story might be spooky if you're under ten. Probably the worst book I've ever read.

Can't get into it so far

I've tried to start this book a couple times now. It seems to have some pretty good reviews so I feel like I really need to push through it a little more and see if I can get excited about. Thus far, I'm having no luck getting interested with the beginning of the book. If I do end up getting into it, I'll change my review.

This was such an amazing start to a series. I can't wait to continue my journey with the Experiment in Terror. It was scary and I actually had a nightmare because of it. That's when I know it's a great book!! I can only imagine the back story of these characters and I can't wait to find out more. Hale's writing is so descriptive and captivating I'm going out right now and buying the next book so I can purge this series!!

One my favorite series ever!  This is an amazing beginning to a series that is so addicting that my house was neglected for a week.  This is a story that is not only creepy but is humorous, and you'll root for Dex and Perry as much as I did.
