He is the tall exquisitely handsome Vampire with long raven hair

He is the tall exquisitely handsome Vampire with long raven hair, dark eyes and distinctly Spanish features. He is also the Vampire who has faced torture of the darkest kind and who has fought in the pits of hell and yet he still lives!!

She is the graceful Amazonian beauty her face perfectly oval with features that were carved by the angel and eyes deep and dark enough for a man to drown in. She is also the Ancient Vampire the supernatural have heard stories about. She is not one you should ever mistake her beauty for weakness or innocence.

She left him after their last mission together and disappeared behind the veil and now she's back he won't allow it to happen again. He is deadly! She is deadlier!

He is SANTIAGO! She is NEFRI! and SHE is HIS!!

This should have been a time for celebration for all demons they had joined forces and eliminated the Dark Lord but when Styxx receives a visit from a witch declaring she had seen Gaius a traitor who had helped the dark lord try to destroy them Styxx knows what he had to do. Gaius was a powerful vampire and if he was back something bad was still afoot and the only person who could find him and discover the truth was the Vampire he had sired and then left to die all those centuries ago 'Santiago'!

The Oracles had summonsed Nefri to find the Vampire they believed had come back through the portal after the war but this time he had brought with him an ancient evil more dangerous than all of them, an ancient evil that should have been destroyed many centuries ago.

When Styxx shows Santiago the weapon given to him by the witch he is shocked but also weary of who it came from but he still agrees to go to Louisiana and see if he can sense Gaius there. Santiago realises when he arrives at the lair in Louisiana that Gaius has been there but had left a few days before however there was another scent one that set his body on fire and frustrated his senses 'Nefri' was here and she wasn't alone! No she was with a 3 foot gargoyle named Levet a gargoyle the men had no time for but annoyingly was loved by their mates. Santiago is determined to find Gaius but he is also determined this time to keep Nefri by his side. All he needs to do is convince her they need to work together and end whatever is happening for good and if they survive he intends to make sure she never leaves his side again.

Darkness Avenged it definitely a must read and if you haven't read this series you are truly missing out on something amazing

Great ending to this particular series ARC:  Darkness Avenged is

Great ending to this particular series ARC:  Darkness Avenged is the tenth storyline in Alexandra Ivy’s Guardians of Eternity and oh, what a ride. There are three overlapping storylines that culminate in a final scene where the major players all seek retribution against the one vampire who has betrayed them all. At the end of Fear the Darkness, the Dark Lord had been destroyed and the tortured vampire Gaius had escaped through the Veil in search of someone long thought dead.
The main storyline focuses on vampires Santiago and Nefri. Nefri has been ordered by The Commission to locate Gaius. Gaius for all intents and purposes is lost to this world but he is also Santiago’s sire. Santiago is the one person who will be able to locate the missing vampire-presumed taken to the afterlife when the Dark Lord was defeated. Having come through the Veil a mere shadow of his former self, Gaius is lost to a darker power when he is promised the return of his beloved and long dead mate. When Santiago discovers it is Nefri who must hunt down Gaius for The Commission, he decrees himself guardian of the beautiful and enigmatic Clan Chief as she endeavors to locate the missing vampire who is wreaking havoc on the emotions of everyone and everything.
Secondary to Santiago and Nefri’s story, Chicago Vampire Clan Chief Roke suddenly finds himself enchanted by the little witch Sally as she is held prisoner at Styx’s estate. As the King of the vampires, Styx knows that Sally was once a trusted friend and companion of Gaius, and both, at one time, lived behind the veil. Styx needs to know what has happened to the man he once called a friend and Sally is the ticket to that information. But Sally refuses to reveal the information in fear that the more sinister side of Gaius takes his revenge. The others will soon learn that Sally is much more than a witch when she is able to break through the vampire King’s warded estate to discover the truth to her witch heritage and powerful legacy.
Thirdly, part of the storyline focuses on Gaius-a vampire so tortured by the Dark Lord, that he was willing to give up his soul to see his beloved mate one last time. This particular part of the storyline followed Gaius as he struggled with the illusion that all would be right in his world once his mate was brought back from the dead. Gaius is no longer the strong and beautiful vampire, but a mere puppet possessed by something much stronger and much older than anyone thought possible. We have followed Gaius throughout the series-cried when he lost his mate: heartbroken when he pledged himself to the Dark Lord: and defeated when we realized there was no turning back for the once brave and powerful vampire.
All three storylines will cross paths as Gaius brings everyone together for a final showdown in a warehouse where a powerful magic must be contained. When the source of everything evil is finally revealed, one vampire will be dust, another will go in search of his missing mate, and still another will retreat to the other side of the Veil to start a life with his family and new love.
The relationship between Santiago and Nefri is fraught with the usual tug of attraction between two souls meant to be together. Their sexual encounters are both loving and hot, and you know that together they will make a formidable pair. As a powerful Clan Chief, Nefri is held in high esteem and worshipped by many who have heard about her powers. It will take a strong vampire, sure in himself, to become consort and mate to such a powerful Chief.
DARKNESS AVENGED is an exciting storyline that answers many of the questions building in the previous books and novels. Alexandra smoothly blends three parallel stories into one imaginative narration of good vs evil, heartbreak and sorrow, love and lost. With her amazing cast of familiar characters readers will feel at home in Darkness Avenged. If you are a fan of Alexandra’s GUARDIANS OF ETERNITY, Darkness Avenged is a must read. There is NO WAY you can skip this installment.

Santiago is suffering from the loss of Nefri, she disappeared so

Santiago is suffering from the loss of Nefri, she disappeared soon after the destruction of the Dark Lord.  His moods are effecting all those around him, including the guest at the demon club.  Styx shows up and tells Santiago that he needs him to use his bond to track down his sire, Gauis.  Reluctantly, Santiago agrees.

Nefri has returned to the veil and her clan, but the Oracles aren't done with her yet and send her on a mission to find Gaius.  Leading Nefri and Santiago on a collision coarse.

Santiago wants to imprint himself on Nefri so she can never leave him again but an ancient imprisoned evil has escaped and threatens the world.

Meanwhile, Sandy (Gaius's witch) has turned herself over to Styx.  Scared for her life and the madness eating at Gaius, it was an act of self preservation.  Styx locks her in his dungeon.  Discovering Gaius is on the loose and infecting others with his madness, Sandy attempts to “influence” Roke (her vampire guard) to help her escape...and it works.  But it also forms an unbreakable bond, a bond that shouldn't even be possible.  Fate finds a way, leading Sandy and Roke to a discovery that could save them all.

This was another fabulous adventure in the Guardians of Eternity series.  Hot and spicy romance, fantastic witty banter, strong and tenacious females and incredibly sexy alphas take this wonderful story to extraordinary.  Still going strong at book 10 in this series, I am anxiously awaiting the full Sandy and Roke story.

    REVIEW:

Santiago is a swoon worthy sexy alpha male and I have been impatiently waiting for his story since Alexandra Ivy first introduced him in the Guardians of Eternity series. I was completely enthralled and I loved every minute of it. Alexandra Ivy always delivers! Nefri is the perfect match for Santiago. Santiago is use to getting what he wants and Nefri definitely presents a challenge. Ivy packed a lot of story into this book. It is full of action, romance, and plot twists and turns. Alexandra Ivy also introduces readers to who I assume will be the next couple in the series. I can not wait to see what she has in store for them in the next book! The ARC I received had a copy of the novella, Levet in the back. I’m not sure if this will be included in the final copy, but if it is included this is a great deal for readers. I highly recommend this book and this series! If you have not read this series you should, and if you have read it you will love Darkness Avenged!

Multiple plots, diverse characters, and an enjoyable read

Nefri and Santiago's story was wonderful, but I actually have to admit I liked the subplot with Roke and Sally more. I was anxiously waiting for each segment of their developing story more than I was Nefri and Santiago. I am looking forward to their story!
