    For now

I generally like Stella's books. This one I am having trouble with. Granted I am only on page 43 but it shouldn't take this long to get started. So far I am not connecting with any of the characters and still don't understand the plot. I am finding it difficult to keep reading, hoping it will grab my undivided attention.

Books should hook you in right away so that the reader will continue to the end. So far I am not feeling hooked. We'll see at the end if my innitial opinion is wrong or not.

    Cameron Returns To Paranormal

Stella Cameron returns us to Whidbey Island for the second book in the Chimney Rock series, Darkness Bred. After a year we get Sean and Elin's story and you won't be disappointed. You learn about Sean's past, how he became a Werehound and his feelings for Elin and having to protect her and everyone that he holds dear from the scourge that may have to do with his past. Elin has escaped from the Fey Queen who had kidnapped her from her original kidnapper so she struggles to learn who she is and all of her powers. Some she knows and has yet to share with Sean.
You learn about the interactions of the paranormal sects as Sean and Elin try to learn who or what is killing the women on Whidbey Island. The journey will also take you back to the Court of Angels in New Orleans. Where Elin finally learns about her past.
A very good book that intrigued me and did not have the final twist figured out until it was revealed. You won't be disappointed as this book sets up her next series of books. Let's just hope it is not another year we have to wait for the book.

    CONFUSING

This is second in a new Stella Cameron series. Think you must read book one first, as I was very confused when I first started reading, and it took me 2 "start overs" to finish the book. Once involved it was very entertaining.

So much more than I expected

If you haven’t had the chance to delve into Stella Cameron’s Chimney Rock series, what are you waiting for? For the longest time I associated Cameron’s work with fantastic historical romances (I’m sure I read my way through her entire Mayfair Square series while in high school) or even contemporary thrillers. But who would have thought Ms. Cameron could extend her literary genius to paranormal romance as well? I sure didn’t! And I was a bit skeptical to say the least that someone who could such believable historical novel could produce a believable paranormal. I don’t mind admitting that I was wrong on so many levels.

As soon as I began reading, I was embroiled in life on Whidbey Island. Where werehounds work alongside Vampires, Witches and other psychics. Where a young fae can escape to and remain hidden from Others trying to gain her powers for their own means. Or here a werehound on the run could hide without fear of discovery or worry of acceptance. Sean is the hero we all want to meet in a dark alley. Elin is the heroine we all want to see get her happy ending.

With sexy characters, fantastic story line and phenomenal world building Darkness Bred is a Must Read for any fan of the paranormal.

Take a big breath before you start reading--I kept forgetting to breathe at all and feeling light-headed! These people are so real and the plot a real nail biter. Someone or something is threatening women on Whidbey Island. Werehound Sean sets out to stop the evil but he needs Elin, shapeshifter and his perfect match. The dialogue is sassy, there's lots of action, and the love scenes are steamy.

    Romance Paranormal

Elin was stolen by the Fae queen Tarhazian and raised more as the queen's pet than her daughter. But she has angered the queen enough to be banished by her. Elin defied her "mother" by falling in love with Sean Black, a werehound. This has gotten her banished from the fae and sends her straight to Sean. He will do what ever it takes, whatever DAKNESS BRED in him to protect his mate.

It is really important for the werehounds to find mates as over the years they have lost the females of their race and most of their offspring. So when an evil is coming after Elin, Sean must be strong enough to protect her. He will fight that much harder for his bonded mate when a secret he has tried so hard to keep ties him to the malignant evil that is seeking the women of Whidbey Island.

DARKNESS BRED is a complex, quick paced paranormal filled with passion, excellent dialogue and spirited women who keep their men on their toes. Author Stella Cameron's characters, both main and secondary, are perfectly flawed, with enough fears and worries to make them very realistic. The romance between the main couple is just steamy enough to keep the reader turning the page and when hitting the last page she leaves us wanting more. This is book 2 of the author's Chimney Rock series and I am so looking forward to the next one.
