Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 1995 im Fachbereich Musikwissenschaft, einseitig bedruckt, Note: 2, Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen, Veranstaltung: Seminar: Igor Strawinski in den zwanziger Jahren, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das Oktett für Blasinstrumente steht am Anfang der neoklassizistischen Werke Strawinskys. Nach seiner russischen Periode, deren Werke wesentlich von der russischen Folklore bestimmt waren, beginnt mit der Komposition der Pulcinella-Suite eine neu Phase seines Schaffens: Zu seiner Kompositionsweise tritt die Dimension der Musikgeschichte hinzu. Klassizismus, der Rückgriff auf Klassisches war zur Zeit Strawinskys keine neu Idee. Die Nachahmung klassischer Vorbilder diente vielen Komponisten als Hilfe, den eigenen Werken klassische Geltung zu verleihen. Das grundsätzlich Neue des musikalischen Neoklassizismus Strawinskys liegt aber gerade dort, nicht nachzuahmen, sondern sich von klassischen Werken zu Neuem inspirieren zu lassen. Ganz im Sinne des russischen Formalismus geht es nicht um Verschmelzung von Elementen zu einer natürlichen und vollkommenen Einheit, sondern Strawinsky will das Geschlossene sprengen und die einzelnen Elemente freilegen und sichtbar machen. Der Eindruck des künstlich Gemachten und des unnatürlich Zusammengebauten soll dem Hörer auffallen und ihm helfen, die Machart des Werkes zu hören.
In dieser Arbeit werde ich zuerst auf die Form des Finales eingehen, im zweiten Teil die Elemente der neoklassizistischen Musik Strawinskys, die in diesem Satz auftreten, darlegen. Zum Schluß sei mir noch ein Versuch gestattet, die Gesamtanlage zu diskutieren.
