Raumplanung, einseitig bedruckt, Note: 1,3, Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (Institut für Geographie), Veranstaltung: Kulturgeographie, 30 Eintragungen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ist das Ruhrgebiet noch ein altes schmutziges Industriegebiet Mitten in Nordrhein-Westfalen? Oder ist das Ruhrgebiet inzwischen ein wichtiges Naherholungsgebiet? Oder ist es eine Mischung aus beidem? Das Ruhrgebiet, der (ehemals) größte industrielle Ballungsraum in Europa, hat eine lange und interessante Geschichte und ist immer noch mitten in seiner Entwickelung. Bevölkerung, Stadt, Kultur, Verkehr, Wirtschaft, Natur, Ökologie, Bodenbeschaffenheit, Politik, Bildungswesen, soziale Struktur, Religion und vieles mehr sind Aspekte, die jeweils eine eigene wissenschaftliche Arbeit Wert sind.
Ziel dieses Werkes ist die darstellende Analyse der Entwicklung des Siedlungsraumes, der Kultur und der Identität der Bevölkerung vor dem Hintergrund des tief greifenden Strukturwandels. Dieser wurde durch wirtschaftliche und gesellschaftliche Veränderungen ausgelöst und findet noch immer noch statt. Es soll versucht werden, die Zusammenhänge zwischen den einzelnen Komponenten aufzuzeigen und ein Gesamtbild über das Ruhrgebiet zu vermitteln. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf den Themenbereichen der Stadtplanung und der Kultur. Es wird anhand von historisch-wirtschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen heraus gearbeitet, wie das Ruhrgebiet im Laufe der letzten vier Jahrzehnte den Weg zu einer Kulturlandschaft betreten hat und seine Vergangenheit als industrielles Zentrum von wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung mehr und mehr hinter sich lässt. Darüber hinaus wird der Frage nachgegangen, wie die Bevölkerung diesen Veränderungen gegenüber steht. Dieses Werk schildert den Weg vom industriellen Herzen Deutschlands zur Route Industriekultur und fragt nach, wie es den Menschen
