    Do not waste your money

This is the worst book i've ever read. The author wastes way too much time on explaining something which is common sense. He also does it in such a way that even if you understood something before, once you read the book you get as lost as the author is. I bought the book only because it was required for a class of mine. A huge mistake!

    Be your own Judge

I was looking for an informative self teaching text book to assist me in self learning and came across this book, though Iv'e read the negative about this text, I chose to investigate myself but took to heart in getting the latest version, I am only 1/2 way through the book and I am learning quickly... for a self teaching book, in my opinion is an outstanding textbook. As for Education- I carry an AS in Computer Science, have my MCP/MCSE- A+/ Net+/ as well as Security + and most recently thanks to this text book and some other studying. I now am a qualified MCDBA.. thats right this book has assisted in making a very qualified SQL Database Designer.. So as once said 'Wealth spent on Education is one of the best Investments yet....' ps. don't listen to negativety unless you are able to substantiate the claim yourself. -43 and still learning.

    This book is beyond AWFUL

This book claims to be about 'Fundamentals' - it is anything but that! The author rambles endlessly, the poor illustrations are useless and the text is so convoluted that one needs to spend hours upon hours just trying to figure out what the author is talking about.
