Interesting but could have used more

This was my first read by Eve Langlais, but it won’t be the last. This is a cute novella, that I am sure could have been much more drawn out and developed, but still worked well as a short piece. The tale was a twist to the myth behind Cupid. Gone is the sweet cherub with the bow and arrow, replaced by a six-foot hunk to lust over. Maverick and Roxanne make a wonderful couple with their sizzling chemistry and deep down longing to find love despite past hurts. Each of their mother's antics are hilarious. I think ti is an interesting play on some of the Greek-myths and a sweet love story. I wish there had been some more development of the characters getting together. It felt like they feel into lust before love, which Cupid himself realizes in the story, and later they do “learn more about each other”, but that time and those things that bring them together are just skimmed and cliff noted to the reader. I just felt there could have been some more. All and all though, if you take this story as a short you can’t be disappointed, and if you are looking for something fun to read mixed with a little bit of heat, then Dating Cupid is for you.
