Overview

The trip began innocently enough.

All they wanted was a simple, week-long vacation to celebrate their new freedom. How hard could that be?

With their last child pushed out the door, it was now 'their' time. Time to travel, to explore, to visit uncharted territories. Time for them to sample strange new cultures with strange new customs and strange new languages.

But where to go? And once the destination was decided, how to get there? Not content with doing things the 'easy way', they first bought a motorcycle. A futuristic behemoth of a touring bike with a design ripped straight from the pages of Buck Rogers that proved to be a topic of conversation at each and every stop - whether they wanted to talk or not.

Armed with poor planning, poor judgment, laughter, love, and an optimism usually reserved for the perilously insane, our daring duo cast caution to the wind and headed straight into the heart of the deepest, darkest continent known to man: Canada.

In the days to come they would have ample time to reconsider the wisdom of their choices as they encounter torrential rains, stomach-churning mountain roads, Canadians, Grizzlies, creepy motel owners, moose, hidden tombs, cloned Vikings, more Grizzlies, starvation, dehydration, beavers, gourmet food, Karelian Bear Dogs, more Grizzlies, ferries, frog swarms and witchcraft all before reaching their final destination at a Lodge in the mountains of Banff National Park.

Would they survive? More importantly, would their 30-year marriage survive? And why is it exactly that in Canada milk comes in bags, the metric system rules, and every word has an extra 'u'?

These answers and more await inside. So pick a comfy chair and climb on board. It's a heck of a ride.

Humor is about the most difficult genre to write. Really funny humor is almost as rare as...well, as rare as David's and Suzanne's Bike. Where has this guy been for the last twenty years? Just his wildly imaginative metaphors are enough to cause loud laughter! This is the best humor book that has come along in years. (And I'm glad that he told us that he doesn't really hate Canadians...Unlike us, they got it right.)

If you're reading this review, you're probably a motorcyclist or you know one. The first thing I want to say is whether you are a motorcyclist or not, this is one of the funniest books you will ever read. David is a rider but this is not a book only a hard core biker would love. Anyone with a sense of humor will fall in love with `David and Suzanne's Big Frickin' Canadian Motorcycle Adventure.'

David's humor is not exactly the subtle, read between the lines, type of humor. It's full bo

Meet the Author

David and his wife Suzanne live - quite nervously - in the foothills of an active volcano in Washington State. When not writing, you can find him piloting his Victory Vision around the hills and dales of the Pacific Northwest. Usually plotting world domination through tasty, tasty snacks.

    OUTSTANDING!

What a GREAT STORY! I couldn't put the book down for long. David Moore's sense of humor and life in general is on point! With thousands of miles of riding and touring myself, I certainly can relate to his sense of humor. He and Suzanne should write more stories of their adventures. Thanks for a great and very entertaining read! Long life to you both!
