    The best book to have

Probably the best book to have when having the D5000 and wants to understand all features including photography techniques. You will know all the secrets of the camera, even some details which are not the owner manual !

    I Also Recommend:

    Great Author

If you own this camera (the Nikon D5000) this book is an invaluable tool...I have other books about photography by David Busch and he explains things in very easy terms.

I was unable to find this book on the shelves at many Barnes & Noble...the sales clerk suggested I purchase this online and it could be delivered...I received the book withing 3 days...

Stuff that you most likely never knew

Here are things that your camera's instruction manual never told you. It can also be expensive to read this book because you will want to make a list and go shopping in a real professional camera store. The section on close-up (macro) photography alone is worth the price of the book. I have referred to it quite often. It is also a good read. As digital photography (especially SLR) advances, this book should be good for more than a year.

    more from this reviewer

The only reference guide you'll need for your Nikon D5000

If you're like me and new to photography, this is a great companion piece to the manual that came with the manual when you purchased it. No, wait. It's better.

The manual is good for step-by-step instruction on how to use all of the many features that the camera offers but David Busch's book adds a whole lot more. He explains what the features do and how to enhance your photographic experience. He goes over aspects that someone like me needs to understand and in a way that is easy to comprehend. I carry this book with me when I go out shooting and I refer to it constantly. The book is like a mentor that is by your side at all times.

    A most valuable reference guide.
