Editorial Reviews

Doody's Review Service
Reviewer: peter m daher, md(Creighton University Medical Center)
Description: This 17th edition is a concise and easy-to-read reference on medicine and is a welcome update to the previous 1995 edition.
Purpose: This is an up-to-date and comprehensive text of clinical medicine to be used in preparation for board and clinical examinations. Such a text is a welcome addition to our student's bookshelf.
Audience: Though primarily for students, residents and practitioners will find the text useful as well. The editors are noted authorities in the area of internal medicine.
Features: An array of the most commonly seen disease entities are presented. The editors do an excellent job of simplifying numerous, complicated diseases in an easy to understand process. Use of color-coding for tables, text, and information boxes makes for easy reading.
Assessment: This is an exceptionally written and easy-to-follow text. The editors create a synergism to blend the basic sciences and the clinical sciences. The additional updated clinical material makes this new edition welcome.
