Based on the new NCLEX-RN® Test Plan!

A complete roadmap to NCLEX-RN® success! Three distinct sections in the book plus a bonus CD-ROM show you the way.

Step 1 is an orientation and review of test-taking strategies with guidance for international and repeat test-takers.

Step 2 consists of 60 practice tests over six chapters, all with NCLEX descriptors. Each chapter corresponds to one the exam’s major subject areas, fundamentals, medical-surgical, ob/newborn, pediatric, mental health, and gerontological nursing. Each chapter also features specialized, stand-alone tests for pharmacology, management of care, and cultural diversity.

Step 3 is two comprehensive exams that test mastery of all subject areas covered in the book and on the NCLEX-RN.

"I really enjoyed the Kathy Ohman's Davis's Q&A for the NCLEX-RN Examination book. I never used NCLEX books to study for my nursing finals, but in my second to last semester I did, and received a 98% on my exam. I contribute that grade to the high cognitive level questions found in this book."—Joe Bragg, Student Nurse at Valencia College, FL

"I have 12 weeks until graduation which means I will be taking the NCLEX very soon. I love this book! I think the number one thing that I like is having the answers on the same page. In all of the other books that I have this is not the case, and I am constantly flipping pages to find the answers."—Chelsea Monaco, Student Nurse at Valencia College, FL

“For the past two years I have been using Davis's Q&A for the NCLEX-RN Examination. Out of all the NCLEX-RN question and answer books I have used studying for tests in nursing school, Davis's Q&A is the best book I have encountered. Not only are the questions challenging, but a detailed rational and test-taking tip is provided for each question and answer. Understanding the rationale to NCLEX questions is fundamental to passing nursing school and the NCLEX…I recommend it to all nursing students!” —Kaitlyn Farrell, Senior Nursing Student, Temple University

    Great Book!

The book is awesome. It includes information about the latest test plan. The CD is great for narrowing studying to just the areas being covered in class. I liked that there are so many alternate format items.

    UGH!!

Reviewing for NCLEX is tough enough w/out using a book where the author clearly didn't proofread the answers before putting out the disc. In taking the practice test w/ the disc I counted 9 answers that were incorrectly marked...not to mention the others I've found during practice.

The rationales are also extremely poorly worded and often don't give you the information needed to help you improve how you select answers.

Try Kaplan over this - at least until someone bothers to proofread it.

I wouldn't give this book even one star if I could. I found some

I wouldn't give this book even one star if I could. I found some mistakes in the answer key for placing answers in the correct order. Makes me wonder what kind of job those 45 reviewers were doing. Also makes me wonder what other mistakes might be in the book that cause me to study incorrect things....

    Awesome NCLEX Prep Book--Highly Recommend!!!

This book is GREAT! It was very, very helpful. There are tons of really great NCLEX-like questions to choose from in all the different subject areas. What's really great are the rationales for the questions. I learned so much from reading each of them. They all contain solid nursing theory and were easy to follow. I also really liked the test-taking tips too. They were so helpful and really helped me remember the content from the question. I even think that sometimes reading the rationales was more helpful than the questions! The CD that came with the book is also very helpful--and it works on my Mac just fine. The publisher must have fixed the errors with the CD--I didn't find any and it definitely works on Macs.I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who wants help passing the NCLEX :)

    Not for Mac Users

I also bought this book (and the same for Pharmacology success) and found the same Mac problems. I find it very annoying they do not have software for this by now, instead the solution is to buy more software that is windows compatible - money I don't have.
On a positive note I do like the way it is split into areas of adult, child and mental health and does provide good rationales.

    Davis book for MAC users

I'm only rating based on not being able to use it. It could very well be a great book. I opened the CDROM only to find out that it is not MAC compatible. Who would have thought that someone would put out a book in 2010 without this compatibility? Now I can't return the book. MAC version is out, but they still have PC only on the shelves. Check the CD first before you open it (and need MAC version).
