Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
"All About Opposites" is a new series that offers very basic information, often using only the two words from the title of the book. A split photo on the cover gives a sure clue as to what will follow. The format follows that of Big and Little. Readers see a bright blue sky which represents day and a black sky with a full moon to represent night. The other pictures contrast items seen at night versus day such as a Ferris wheel and a country cabin. The book includes a girl eating her breakfast and the words "good day" followed by a another child whose head is down and the text states "good night" The book closes with references that are reasonably current, links to two websites, and an index. The book is identified as Guided Reading level "A" with the word count of twelve. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
