Children's Literature - Mary Thompson
The Vesper and Cahill families are at it again. With Baldacci at the helm of the last volume, the pulse-pounding pressure may be too much for Dan and Amy Cahill to overcome. Seven Cahill hostages have been taken by Vesper One, their release is promised in return for a series of bizarre ransoms. Once the Cahills find the last clue, they realize that the Vesper's plan is more diabolical and heinous than they had originally thought and that it could destroy millions of people. The race against time splits the group in two directions: one group off to find the hostages in the Cascade Mountains while Dan and Amy travel to D.C. to head off Isabella, who they suspect to be Vesper Two. Finally, they meet up under the Rocky Mountains for the hair-raising standoff between good and evil. The squabbling for control within the Vesper camp and the strained loyalties among the Cahills creates an emotional frenzy that makes the book hard to put down. It is up to the few remaining Cahills to decipher the clues, solve the puzzle, find their missing friends, and save the world. The author injects a healthy dose of history, geography, and geology into the storyline. The "39 Clues" series is akin to a kid's version of the classic movie, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, and will have readers glued to the page right up until the exciting conclusion. First to actually read the book and post on it. You could definitely tell the author was interested in Fiske's character a bit too much. I rate down a star mainly because of a certain favorite character's death. I also didn't approve of Amy's romantic choice. I also disliked how Ian was downplayed him, being such a staple character. But the story and plot was amazing and I liked what he did with Isabel.

This was a great book to finish the cahills vs. vespers series. I thought that it took the author a few chapters to make it sound like the charachers in the other books. I was happy that he included the hostages much more that the other books. I was very upset at who did not make it in the end. I wish that vesper one would have remained more of a mystery in the book instead of just saying who it was. Loved the choice amy made about eho would be her boyfriend. I thought this was a great book but i gabe it 4 stars due to the author not capturing the characters right away. Cant wait for 39 clues unstoppable book one!! Comes out fall of 2013 and is written by jude watson!!!! For first look, complete the mission for this book on the website

This heart-pounding novel is just EPIC. But it is ALSO very sad. Caution: spoilers ahead! I'll give you plenty of space to turn baaaack! Ok. Here it goes: Vesper One is really a young guy named Damien Vesper. Sinead is the mole but later in the book realizes what she did and switches back to the Cahill side. AJT was never really Dan's dad; it was Isabel! She found out about the extra flask of syrum Dan kept in his knapsack and... (Gasp) took it!!! Wait, I need to back up. Dan didn't take the real syrum; Amy found it and made a fake one. Amy cheats on Evan with Jake... And then Evan DIES!!! It made me (almost) hate her. Also, Natalie and Isabel die. Natalie got electrocuted by the Doomsday device and Isabel dies when the device blows up. She wasn't working with Vesper One. That's all for now. If you read all that and you HATE spoilers, don't say I didn't warn you. Worth ten bucks!!!

I didnt like this book as much as the others. I hated it when Evan and Natalie die. I thought Jake was better for Amy but Evan didnt deserve to die. I feel bad for Ian cuz his sister had died right after he saw her :( . Also they shouldnt be using words like hell and crap in CHILDREN'S books. Fiske doesnt talk that way in the other books so i hated him . There was too much romance goin on between jake and amy . Liked it when they crushed the vespers but didnt like it when isabel died. I wish dans dad was alive. It wouldve been better that way. Other than that i liked the book!!!

Um.. i'm pretty sure you guys are kids since im 10.. David, the writer is a famous adult writer. If you havent hit your "Im in love" part of you life you won't like this book. I think they made a good choice though, because they wanted someone who could tell the story because this is the most sobering book in the series. Uh oh. Im starting to sound like my teacher. Sorry if I spelt something wrong or got of track. The reason im writing a " deep thinking" paragraph is because i guess im what you call a reading prodigy. My lexile score is 1410 and last year it was1260 anything above 1300 is above collage age reading. I read the hunger games trilogy in 3 days and the entire harry potter series in 1-2 weeks. Sorry for wasting your time. Usually im very witty with my writing. And i usually dont apoligize as much. ( I think its funny that im a great reader, but a terrible speller. Do you? I am currently writing a novel ( im a great writer, not a good spell) it will be out within 2 years id say. Its called Elementles:Flame-Boiler, Winter-Frost, and Wide-Ocean . Its the first nook in the Followers Trilogy

This book is AMAZING!!!! I was a little disapointed on who doesn't make it, but the rest of the book makes up for it!! I won't say any spoilers, but I couldn't believe most of Fiske's plans!! I wont say what they are, but they were pretty EPIC!!!!!!!
