    Incredible

I first learned about this symphony while playing it in the superior grade 6 advanced symphonic band at my high school. After listening to the actual recording, it is incredibly accurate to the mood and feelings of the books. De Meij certainly has pulled off a masterpiece without (stress without) the help of Hollywood (the symphony was written years before the movie came out). Great cd, certainly worth it.

    A Fantastic CD!

This is a great CD! Weather you are a LOTR fan or not you WILL enjoy this work; a fantastic job by the London Symphony, having just finished playing this piece myself in my high school wind ensemble this Spring has made me appreciate the complexity of this de Meij piece even more! A must buy!

I can't stop listening to this CD

This is a beautiful symphony! I am a big Lord of the Rings fan and this CD was a great addition to my growing collection. I really love the melodies which bring the characters and places to life. I also thought the additional track with ''The Sorcerer's Apprentice'' was a fitting complement to Johan De Meij's music. Kudos to the London Symphony Orchestra for a wonderful performance, and to Dave Warble for a great job conducting! I would recommend this CD to anyone whether or not they are a Tolkien fan.
