    A Wild Ride

Get set to go on a wild ride with Lerxst Johnson. Kathryn Lively paints a lush picture of the people, places and signposts of Virginia Beach and New York City. Lerxst Johnson is a rocker by night, guitar instructor by day. He meets some interesting people and dangerous situations along the way. To say he has girl trouble is the understatement of the century. The story is a great slow build to a dynamic conclusion. Tense family situations, road trips and a body count dot the scenery. Kathryn wears her interests on her sleeve here, namely her love of two cities, her fandom for the band Rush and her knack for dealing with the headlines and social issues of the day.

Music tutors have it hard to start with and something about them

Music tutors have it hard to start with and something about them is inherently funny. Kathryn Lively creates Lerxst with a whole host of problems including someone trying to kill him. She takes us back stage to the gigs and really pulls the reader in from the start. A great read that made me laugh.

    Great read!!!

A trite as it may sound, I found myself not able to put this one down. Lively has a gift for mixing suspense with the truly unexpected, often with darkly humorous results. You never quite know what the next page is bringing, but odds are that it will only add to the delightful mix of calamity and hilarity that surrounds our boy Lerxst. Being a quick and engaging read, I don't want to reveal too much in this review, but if seemingly odd bedfellows such as fake limbs and bombs sound intriguing, pick this book up now!!! Truly an engaging and enjoying read.
