Ann Charles has roused up Violet's curiosity again. Single moth

Ann Charles has roused up Violet's curiosity again. Single mother Violet is a real estate agent and keeps stirring up strange clients and even some unforeseen guests. She must rely on friends to help her seek information of unusual nature. There seems to be some surprises in store for her as she becomes more curious concerning peculiar happenings at the Mudder Brothers Funeral Home. Violet's children and an old geezer keep this story lively.

I've read all three books in this series and they are fantastic.

I've read all three books in this series and they are fantastic. There is mystery, adventure, romance, fantastic characters, sniping, snarking and great belly laughs. I often wish that I was the main character Violet, something she might not even wish on herself. I cannot recommend these books enough for anyone who needs a little escape.

Every book is better than the one before

If you like a mystery,or ghosts,or romance or,above all, exceptional humor, you will definitely enjoy this series. Violet is a single mother of twins and a struggling real estate agent, surrounded by the wacky, wonderful, not so wonderful, and flat-out kooks. I ended up cackling out loud many, many times. How could anyone not laugh at characters named Big Lips Lolly?! The ending of this wonderfully written book left me clamoring for more.

    Fun read/and possible spoilers

I didn't know what to expect from this series but it has been a wonderful surprise. While I like the heroine (funny as hell) and I know they can't always be 100% perfect (where is the fun in that right?) I nevertheless would have slapped a sexual harassment suit against her co-worker, that SOB Ray, like yesterday. Certainly Jane who is the boss there should fire that moron. And she should come clean with her good friend. The situation is not fair to either herself, Doc or Natalie. I haven't read the last book yet so maybe these situations will be resolved. Anyway this is a very good, fun and funny series.

I found this book to be highly entertaining and enjoyed reading it. If you like mysteries that are not too dark and contain humorous episodes, you certainly need to give this series a try.

Sometimes a series starts to get slow and/or repetitive by the time you get to book 3. However, this is not one of those series. I still am crazy about this series and really enjoy reading about all the great characters like Violet, Doc, Harvey, Zoe, etc. Only negative I have to say is I found myself getting frustrated with Violet and her procrastination over spilling the beans to Natalie, but by the end of the book I was ready to give it a 5-star approval. Really enjoy the mystery, humor, and the romance all rolled into one. Great book!

Deadwood just keeps getting better and better!

Violet and pals, alive and dead, just keep getting more and more interesting. Ann Charles has a great way of telling Violet's stories. I am so glad I have been pulled into them. Start with the first if you have time. I think this one is the best and I can hardly wait for the next. If I knew Ms. Charles, I would be bugging her daily about all the characters and hidden bits yet to be given to the reader.

This is the third book in the Deadwood series by Ann Charles. We

This is the third book in the Deadwood series by Ann Charles. We dive in once again, only 2 or 3 days after the ending of the last book. After the ending of the second book, once would think that Violet would actually believe in ghosts, but she is stubbornly holding on to the "hmmm, maybe" mindset. In the beginning of this book, Violet has definitely earned the nickname "Spooky" Parker and has a gentleman show up at the Realty office asking for her specifically since he heard about her reputation with speaking to ghosts. Mr. Cornelius Curion wishes to by a haunted hotel, and since all Violet can think about is her children needing things like food and clothing, that she will suck it up and get him the haunted hotel.

But Ray, has another trick up his sleeve to get rid of Violet. He has gotten Jane to agree that if Violet doesn't sell the hotel, that she will be fired. So he tries to outbid her and lets her know that he wants her gone. In retaliation, Violet taunts Ray with knowing what is going on with the containers that him and George Mudder of Mudder Funeral Homes are smuggling. Ray gets extremely nasty and threatens Violet. This just drives her even more to figure out what is going on.

Since the end of the first book, Violet has been having nightmares due to what happened and then with the incidents at the end of book two, Nathalie has been sleeping over, trying to help Violet out. With her continued refusal to tell Nathalie about her and Doc, this is causing tension between them. But Violet is opening up more to Doc and actually trying to work on her issues.

The ending of this book really shook me up. I totally wasn't expecting it, and I am sure that there will be much more follow-up in the next book. Which I can't wait to come out. This was a most excellent read, and though the main mystery was wrapped up, there is still so much left unresolved. I had to give this book 5 stars on Goodreads. It was just that amazing.
