Code-named Dead Eye, Russell Whitlock is a graduate of the same ultra-secret Autonomous Asset Program that trained and once controlled Gentry. Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
10/14/2013
Courtland “Court” Gentry (aka the Gray Man) faces his most lethal foe yet—Russell “Dead Eye” Whitlock, who has the same training and background as himself—in Greaney’s action-filled fourth thriller featuring the ex-CIA agent turned hired assassin (after 2011’s Ballistic). Court has made a number of powerful enemies, including Russian mafia boss Gregor Sidorenko, whose heavily fortified dacha outside St. Petersburg he attacks in a one-man air raid. The CIA, for reasons that remain unclear, has issued a shoot-on-sight order for Court and put Whitlock on his trail. The final piece of the puzzle is Mossad targeting team leader Ruth Ettinger, who has learned from a reliable source that Iranian agents have hired Court to assassinate the Israeli prime minister. The various moves of each of the skilled and ruthless principals play out against a constantly shifting background of changing goals and allegiances. Fans of superhuman antiheroes will hope the Gray Man survives to fight another day. Agent: Scott Miller, Trident Media Group. (Dec.)

The Dead Eye by Mark Greaney is a well written book with great characters and an amazing plot. I like adrenaline driven stories, and this is one piece that kept me going all the way to the end. The great thing about this story, like Triple Agent Double Cross, is the fact that it keeps spinning the reader with surprises while the story line stays focused, making it a page-turner that is sophisticated but not complicated.
