Library Journal
Reluctant Buffalo, NY, psychic and former insurance investigator Jeff Resnick (Murder on the Mind) is asked to look into the murder of a bartender. Bartlett has a deft touch and makes psychic abilities very real.
Book List
Bartlett presents her 2nd supernatural mystery featuring Jeff Resnick, a down-and-out insurance investigator who acquired hard-to-control psychic powers after sustaining brain injuries in a mugging. While in a local bar, he’s asked by the bartender to look into the murder of his cousin. Jeff instantly gets a flash of a red, rhinestone-studded high-heeled shoe and he knows he must take the case. The investigation leads him into a world of fetishes and drag queens. Gripping and energizing.
Merrimon Reviews
A wonderful mix of hard-edged characters and scenarios with a touch of heart-moving details. There is no guaranteed easy resolution or happily-ever-after summation, but WOW, what an ending. Now, when is the next Jeff Resnick mystery out? I’m hooked!

    Captivating

The second book in the series which I had to read immediately after completing the first. In it is a new mystery to contend with as well as a continuing of the story of Jeff and his new found brother. Once again the ending left me with a desire to get to know more about him (Jeff) and the sad life he had until his rescue by his brother. Hoping that he comes to terms with his new found talent.

    Good

I really enjoyed this series of books. I hope there is a fifth soon. These books are suitable for both men and women. They are for mature readers. Sometimes, the premise is impropable, but this bit of fantasy only adds entertainment value. At times the main characters seem very immature, but sometimes under stressful conditions, we all make mistakes or act in frustration. All the books, except for the three short stories, have over five hundred pages, which makes a very nice read. These mysteries are very well edited. To be honest, for me, the three shorts were a waste of money. The best one, Cold Case, was recreated as the opening chapters for the fourth book, Bound By Suggesstion. Bah Humbug was not worth reading, and the other one, was inane and almost seemed to have been written by an author other then LL Bartlett. It is comparable to a ghost story written for tweens. But the four full length novels were excellant and I highly recommend them.

Excellent mystery. I like the psychic touch but I would follow

Excellent mystery. I like the psychic touch but I would follow the series without it. Well written with strong characters. More than cozy romance, less than terrifying suspense. This series falls into the perfect niche for me.

I was so glad to hear that another book is due out 9/4/12!

Good Read for All Adult Readers

When I say good read for adults I meant that this story will appeal primarily to adults and not teen or YA readers. Our hero has real issues in a real world. A guy you can relate to with the exception of his psychic ability! Grab this book for some quality adult entertainmeny

    Enjoyable book...

I really liked the main character.
Make sure you read these books in order. Skip "Cold Case", a short story, because it's repeated in book #4 "Bound by Suggestion".
"Murder on the Mind" is the first book.
