Dead in the Boot is a compilation of b-sides and rarities from indie-rock outfit Elbow. The selection of tracks come from singles released as far back as 2001 debut Asleep in the Black and featuring tracks from the Newborn EP as well as b-sides from 2011 release Build a Rocket Boys! Many of the tracks were self-produced by the band and it was during the experimentation of these sessions that pianist Craig Potter gained the skills and confidence to take the helm of Seldom Seen Kid and Build a Rocket Boys!
