Meet the Author

While browsing bookstore shelves as a teenager, Lo discovered the erotic writings of Anaïs Nin and A.N. Roquelaure. Certain her mother would not approve, Lo smuggled the books home and squirreled them away in the most likely of places: under her bed. Late at night, she delved into the sensual worlds both writers created.

As a co-ed studying biochemistry and genetics at Texas A&M University, Lo dabbled in creating naughty tales to entertain her friends. Study for a midterm or pen a deliciously dirty story to delight her small band of fans? Not surprisingly, Lo is now on an extended sabbatical from college.

Luckily, Lo stumbled onto the world of erotic romance publishers. She realized there were other readers and writers who loved and craved breathtaking romance with the spiciest of love scenes. She took a chance and submitted her first novella. The rest is history.

Lo lives in Texas with her husband, daughter and big blubbering Great Dane with mommy issues.

My beef with this book it that it was to short. It is only about 120 pages so I got through it quickly. Cora is a hot mess but in a fun way and Stig is brooding but he has PMS so he’s excused. Speaking of Stig’s PMS I liked that he was in heat, which is usually a female issue. I also liked that Cora and Stig already knew and cared for each other, it made the intensity of their romance make a lot of sense. Also for such a short book so many things about these Dragon’s and their history and biology was explained, while leaving plenty of mystery and drama for future installments. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

    Dragon Heat in Spades!

Would the world be a better place without dragons? For ages a group of knights have battled to eradicate the dragonshifters that secretly live among us. Is their cause just or born from hatred, or perhaps love? The battle has come to Stig’s door, via his late best friend’s sister, Cora, a beautiful and tantalizing human female. Cora has always had a special place in her heart and her fantasies for the distant, quiet and sexy Stig, but he hasn’t shown the slightest interest. She is now in desperate trouble and it couldn’t be at a worse time for Stig. His dragon is running hot, his hormones are raging and Cora is too tempting to resist, but not only is love between a dragon and a human forbidden, Cora has NO idea what Stig really is. How could she possibly accept him once she knows he is an immortal dragon?

Dead Sexy Dragon by Lolita Lopez is novella length, but does not lack in attention to detail. Clearly Dead Sexy Dragon is meant to sensual and erotic with some story thrown in. For me, the “encounters” between Stig and Cora were a little too detailed or graphic. There wasn’t much in the line of sensual nor was there much left to the imagination. Each sexual move was detailed again to the point that I felt Masters & Johnson wrote part of the script. That said, Stig’s character WAS developed well with considerable attention made to his background and his life, fleshing him out and making him likable and realistic. Cora was almost flat as a character and not so easily identified with.

The plotline of dragons versus knights is intriguing and I hope to read more of that idea in the next book. Is this a battle of good over evil or a tragic mistake that has gone on for too long like the Hatfields and McCoys?

    Dead Sexy Dragon. Lolita Lopez.

    ARC supplied by Netgalley.

I wanted to like this book, I expected to like it – after all its got Dragon-shifters and Romance and I love the romance paranormal combo. Still, it didn't do it for me :(
Stig the dragon-shifter (and Stig of the dump, TV prog from when my kids were young kept popping into my head at the name..) and best friend of Cora's dead brother lives a quiet, isolated existence, necessary for shifters like him, protectors of their race. Then Cora turns up just at the wrong moment, needing a place to stay. From here things went sadly downhill for me. Despite the danger to her, and the need for secrecy he allows here to stay, although he needs to spend the next eight nights chained up in his basement....how on earth is he gong to get that one past her? It then descends really into a sex fest first by dreams then reality. I like sex in books, but as part of the story, sensual and erotic not just words and fillers with a thinly plotted story to carry it. When she does discover him in the basement is she shocked? No, she just wants to touch him despite the fact he's a dragon, with a huge dragon erection (his description not mine) ....
Sadly I really didn't like this book – but as ever I'm sure others looking for different types of novels to me will enjoy it. At 128 pages its quite a short read, so if you want a quick peruse of a novel that’s light on story but heavy on sex you may enjoy this.
Stars: just two from me, I wouldn't say I hated it, it was well written and edited technically but its just not one I enjoyed.

I was so excited to find a book with Sexy Dragons and I enjoyed

I was so excited to find a book with Sexy Dragons and I enjoyed it immensely, but missed the fact that it was so short! I loved the characters and their chemistry just would have loved to have seen so much more!! There was an excerpt to book 2 at the end of this one though and short or not, I will definitely be checking it out too!! If you are looking for a quick read about a HOT man that turns a little scaly, then this is definitely the book for you. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

I like this series, and was glad to get this book. I really liked it! What I didn't like was the abrupt ending. All in all, it was a good last chance story.

Dead Sexy Dragon was my first read by this author, and I enjoyed

Dead Sexy Dragon was my first read by this author, and I enjoyed it. The book has an excerpt from book #2 in the series, Red Hot Dragon (TBR February 4th, 2014), and I may actually enjoy that one even more by the sound of it.

The characters had great chemistry due in large to their history/connection. There wasn’t exactly a gradual progression of discovering feelings, but rather Stig was the only obstacle because of his secret. Cora was outgoing and brazen enough to make the first move (something I admire in heroines). If you want it, go for it. There’s no use being timid and constantly wondering “what if?” I wouldn’t say I connected with Cora, but I felt her reactions to each pivotal moment in the story was realistic, both the good and the bad. Stig had a lot more layers to him: his part in the Brotherhood, the duties he fulfilled in the Marines, his very close friendship to a human (Cora’s brother), and the vow to keep an eye on her if anything ever happened to her brother. He was a man of honor and a beast with a hint of vulnerability.

I liked the plot too which was interesting in terms of the code of honor among the Brotherhood of the Green Hide. Aside from the secret Stig was keeping from Cora was the added burden that a Brother couldn’t stray across species lines. The Brotherhood’s duty was to protect other dragons from the Knights (of St. George), a band of dragon slayers. The sex was hot, but I preferred seeing the hero vulnerable to heartache and having the heroine come to an important fork in the road. I wish the hero and heroine had had a little more time to come to terms with the drastic changes in their budding relationship. It just seemed like the bubble burst a bit too soon. Other than that, the rest of the story kept a decent pace and was easy to follow.

A fun, sexy read and if you love dragon shifters, you’ll enjoy this.

Rating: 3.5 rounded up to 4

    Little plot, Lots of sex

This actually has a plot that would have been very interesting but 1. It's only 7 chapters, less than 90 pages and 2. It was 75% incredibly graphic erotica. It was like the plot was mearly a device for the characters to have sex. In fact I would say this verged more towards porn than erotica. Sadly, if the author had left out the incredibly graphic sex scenes and focused on the plot I would definitely be buying book 2 which is a full size one. I don't mind some steamy scenes but these as one reviewer put it were so graphic they "could have been written by Masters & Johnson." Very disapointed in what could have been a great new series was used as a vehicle for sex. I'd love if the author concentrated on the plot and added some sensual scenes as extras. I'd totally read that.

I am always happy to find a new author. Especially when she has a new outlook on my favorite-Dragons. These are shifters and men who change when they get hot and cranky when they go into mating heat. It's not every month but now they know how we feel. Stig is flummoxed when his late best friend's sister comes to him for help. Cora' s had the hots for Stig since she was a girl. It gets interesting to watch them fight against each other for what they want. Of course the bad guys show up. Insert lots of action here! But who wins? Is it Stig or Cora or the Big Bad Boss Dragon? Ooops! No spoilers here you must read the book.

I love my paranormal romance books, but this book was too short for me. I liked shape shifters and there's not very many with dragons. She gave it a good go at it, the story was good but short, and some steamy sex scenes.

    Hello

A good start to a sexy adult 120 page story of a paranormal dragon shifter. May be the start to a book??? Read on to the spoiler comments for FULL reviews; really? On a 120 page story you feel compulsive enough to reveal the entire plot. The excerpt is very interesting if it was a complete book.

    I Also Recommend:

    Not enough story...

This story had great potential, but just fell short for me. Not enough character development, lacking in background, etc. Could've been a good series, but I won't be reading any further.
