Frank 'Reaper' Hays, a founding member of the white supremacist Aryan Brotherhood, is about to give evidence against members of his own gang for the brutal slaying of an undercover ATF agent and his family. And just to make an already difficult job next to impossible, Reaper refuses to go into protective custody.

Editorial Reviews

Harry Guerin
"Faster, tighter and with a better plot than his debut 'Lockdown', former TV scriptwriter Black looks set for a lengthy partnership with Lock. Like a cross between 'Assault on Precinct 13', 'In the Line of Fire' and 'The Rock', 'Deadlock' sees Lock really come into his own as a hero and the set-pieces involving a prison yard, remote airstrip, small town courthouse and a city funeral would be great on the big screen."
Geoffrey Wansell
"Clearly influenced by Lee Child and Joseph Finder, Black drives his hero into the tightest spots with a force and energy that jump off the page. This is a writer, and a hero, to watch."
Joseph Finder
"Sean Black writes with the pace of Lee Child and the heart of Harlan Coben."

Meet the Author

Described as 'the future of thriller writing,' rising star Sean Black is fast becoming known for his high-concept conspiracy thrillers featuring ex-military bodyguard, Ryan Lock. His books set off at lighting-fast pace and often tackle controversial subjects (animal rights, pornography, the drug war on the American-Mexican border).

An author who isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty, to research his debut novel, Lockdown, he underwent a month-long close protection training course in the UK and Eastern Europe. The book went on to sell at auction to Transworld, the publisher of Dan Brown, Lee Child and Tess Gerritsen, for over half a million dollars and went on to debut on the official Nielsen/Bookscan bestseller list in its first week on sale. As part of his research for the second book in the series, Deadlock, he spent time inside Pelican Bay Supermax prison in California (see the television interview on his Amazon author page). The third book in the series featuring ex-military bodyguard, Ryan Lock, and his colleague, retired Marine Ty Johnson, Gridlock, will be released in paperback on July 5th.

An Ivy League and Oxford University graduate, he has just finished work on the fourth book in the series, The Devil's Bounty. The Devil's Bounty will be available in hardback and as an e-book in August, 2012.

He is represented by Scott Miller of Trident Media Group in New York and Jon Cassir at CAA in Los Angeles.
