Overview

Mars Cannon just wanted to get her job done, her boss off her back, and her feisty, trouble-making eighty-year-old neighbor to stop shooting at people with her paintball gun. Unfortunately, life is never that cooperative. Adding to the madness is her best friend’s wedding, making Mars feel like she has crawled her way through a marathon.

Mars has had her eye on Evan West for several years. She knows he’s only out for one thing, and Mars doesn’t want to ruin their friendship for one night of heaven. Evan, a known flirt, has tried many times to get close to Mars, but she always slips through his fingers. When he finally decides to get serious, a mysterious man shows up and sweeps Mars from his grasp.

When Mars meets a male exotic dancer at the bachelorette party, all decent thoughts fly out the window . . . until reality hits. And it hits hard! He has a secret and a long list of aliases. He’s not what he seems and Mars is dragged into a killer’s path.

Now, Mars needs to outsmart two irresistible men and outrun a killer, all while pulling off a wedding without a hitch and keeping her neighbor in line.

But perhaps she doesn’t want to outsmart the men quite yet. They are handsome, after all.

I recommend this book. There was mystery, romance, suspence, humor and a great ending that made me want to read more.

This free, 156 page book is very humorous. It is a murder romance. At the begining of the book, it almost seems as if a few chapters are missing. I checked to see if there was a prequal or if this was book two instead of one, but could not find either one, so I guess the author thought we did not need to know what she was writting about in the begining. At least the money strapped, main character is not a PI, newspaper reporter, or bounty hunter. The editing was just okay. Sentence structure was poor and words like bear and bare were misused. Often pronouns were misplaced. The book and plot were good, the story well thought out. There is a heroine in lust with two men and can not choose. She has a crappy boss, good friends, one of which is the required token gay. Sound familiar? There is murder, but only a touch of gore. I guessed early on whodunit and whydunit, but because of two concurrent plots, I was only half right. There is some hot foreplay, lots of flirting and rather tame sex. I loved the fiesty old neighbor. I did not enjoy, not having a conclusion. Readers will have to purchase book two to "hopefully" get an ending. It costs $2.99. Chick lit and a lot of fun. I think 16 year olds could read this one, some shows on the Family Channel are more explicit. I will buy book two, but after that I don't know. AD

Ok story, more funny than a good mystery or romance. Leaves you hanging. Not good enough though to want to purchase the next one.

This book is not what I expected. It had romance in it. I am more into psychological thrillers with only a hint of romance. Overall I realize that this writer is able to mix the two with a nice punch. Try it and see!

Read this book in a day in a half. Mars is the opposite of every female in the book. She does not recognize her pin up girl looks. Two men want her but she wants them both and they are not into sharing....whats a girl to do. When she cannot believe these guys want her. Enter a death threats and a stalker. A guy who changes his name like underwear but more often. A guy you casually flirt with but uses women like tissue....blow and toss. What else can go wrong? Event planning, murder, a horny lush for a boss whar more can a girl look forward to daily?

This is a great book had plenty of witty humor, a love story you would never guess, and so many twists and turns it just kept you guessing. As I am a book aficionado and barely write reviews I love this book and would recommend this book to anyone as it has a bit of everything.

Fun to read, light mystery/romance. Loved the characters. Occasionally made me laugh out loud. Recommend for light reading.

I do not recommend. This is a list of names with some photos and near useless commentary. If you know Thai Chi this may be a helpful list. If you are learning Thai Chi, this contributes nothing.

This was an unexpected surprise. This book had it all...( well except for steamy detiled sex scenes). This book had suspense, mystery, romance, jealously, friendship, and best of all witty dialogue that kept you laughing and great characters. First read by NC and it won't be the last. Less than 200 pages but worth the read. LOVETOREAD

Ms. Pierce has a way of writing books that make you laugh out, talk to yourself and get all hot and bothered...lol. This was a very interesting book, loved all of the characters, even the bad ones. Very fast paced, but very engaging and a definite page turner. It just bugged me out how Mars was in constant danger but she didn't really seem to mind at all. With so many people after her and so many horrid things happening to her, you'd think she wouldn't be so careless...that aspect of the book was just strange. There were also plenty of grammatical errors, which always confuse the readers and detracts from the book, but it was still a very entertaining read. FYI: This book does end on a cliffhanger, so if you are interested in reading it, which you should, be prepared to purchase book two. SR
