Kirkus ReviewsDenise Burton's troubles don't quit when she goes to sleep. She's haunted by a recurrent nightmare featuring white-coated figures and shrouded, twitching bodies. One day she's sent to the sixth floor of her company, Marikem Industries, and sees her nightmare landscape come to life. Meantime, Denise's waking life is no bed of roses. Her ex-husband Donald, running from a drug dealer who's after his money, keeps bouncing back to her, and she wonders whether she can trust the new man in her bed, Marikem biologist Richard Kramer—especially since his cameo appearances in her dreams. But for all these promising gambits, filmmaker Schiller's first novel offers too little payoff and reads too much like a bad translation ("These people are not moral," a former Marikem informant intones) to strike many sparks.
A Twilight Zone appetizer served without an entrée.
