Publishers Weekly
A spate of suicide bombings in commercial areas of Austin, Tex., engages FBI agent Dutch Rivers, the fiancé of psychic consultant Abby Cooper, in Laurie’s lighthearted 11th Psychic Eye mystery (after 2012’s Lethal Outlook). With a mix of charm and bluster, Abby inveigles her way into working on the case so she can foresee and protect Dutch from any harm that might come to him. As tension builds, the bomb threats and the couple’s upcoming wedding are equally stressful to Abby; she must deal with her type-A sister, Cat, who’s planning an extravagant “Cirque du Ceremony”—whether Abby likes it or not. While Abby’s inner monologue is always entertaining, Abby and Dutch’s inane squabbles make them poor coworkers and a vapid couple. Still, the plot moves at such a quick clip that readers needn’t read too deeply into the convenient timing of Abby’s psychic vibes. Agent: Jim McCarthy, Dystel & Goderich Literary Management. (July)
Library Journal
The badly injured Abby Cooper is still planning to walk down the aisle in her 11th outing (after Lethal Outlook). M.J. Holliday (from Laurie's "Ghost Hunter" series) comes to help out in this paranormal favorite.
Kirkus Reviews
A psychic and FBI consultant must protect her fiance from a dangerous case, even if she gets too wrapped up in it herself. Think your wedding day was fraught? Abby Cooper has a bomb strapped to her chest and two hours to live. As Laurie (Lethal Outlook, 2012, etc.) explains in a series of flashbacks alternating with wedding-day drama, Abby sensed powerful negative forces surrounding her fiance, FBI agent Dutch Rivers, ever since he started working the suicide bombing case of a local hairdresser. Since Abby's perfectly content to make herself a nuisance in order to keep Dutch safe, she talks Dutch's boss, Gaston, into signing her up as part of the investigating team. Though Abby's relieved that now she can keep an eye on Dutch, she can't figure out the motivation of the bomber, who, whatever Homeland Security might think, appears to have been a young woman with no ties to terrorism. Teaming up with her partner and best friend, Candice, Abby tries to use her psychic abilities to feel out people around the case in the hope of finding some connection. Her terror in thinking that danger is still out there is nothing compared to her terror when faced with the wrath of her sister and wedding planner, Cat, after she misses yet another wedding-focused meeting. When the big day comes, M.J. Holliday and associate Gilley Gillespie must track down the bride, who is MIA, since M.J. knows she's in grave danger. Though the constant oscillation between past and present is jarring at first, the two narratives fit together like a puzzle, insisting that fans read just one more chapter to see where the next piece will fall into place.

I will not tell you anything regarding the storyline of this novel. You will have to read it for yourself but I strongly suggest that you do NOT start reading it on a work night. It cannot be put down except by shear force of will. this is her best novel yet in this series. The format is really different and like others who have used this style, sets the reader up for OMG switching backs from view point of one to the view point of another. The writing is superb. At one point close to the end I had a hint, because I was paying attention, as to who the bad person was. I was right! Don't say you don't like stories where the villain is figured out. The clues and the red herrings are all there and Ms. Laurie plays fair with the reader. It's no small plus that this author knows her subject - personally. Just remember, do not start reading it on a work night.

Just finished it. Gotta say no book has ever made me feel anxious before...the way it was written was brilliant. There were times were I wanted to finish it but was too afraid to turn the page! Took all my will power NOT to scroll to the end! Loved M.J. and Abby together! You ROCK Victoria! Looking forward to the next one!

This one was a page turner & kept me guessing until the last couple of chapters. Cheers to Victoria Laurie for creating a strong, independent, & lovable character; who happens to be a psychic!

In this book of the Psychic Eye Mystery Series we are taken on another emotional, on-the-edge-of-my-seat ride, that can only be described as about intense as book 9 Vision Impossible! Abby Cooper is at it again, trying her best to save her man Dutch from an unknown danger, and solve a case before her wedding day. WHEW, right! This is it! We are counting down the days 'til the big day, with Abby and Dutch pressed for time. The house Dave is building them will be done not a moment too soon. They'll be able to move in one day before the wedding, which is also when their lease is up at their current rental house. Dutch is still working on the suicide bombing case that Abby passed on in the last book because of the awful feeling it gave her! Dutch and his team are no closer to finding out who is behind this now then he was when he first started. Abby is still getting the "Dutch is going to die from this case" feeling from the ether, and with the wedding coming up she has no choice but to step in and help, despite her fears. The writing style the author used in this book was a completely new direction, and I loved it! One moment we were in the here and now with the story, the next we were in the future (to be exact the wedding day), and watching the horrible events after they unfolded, but still not sure who did it! MJ Holiday, and Gilley from the author's other fangtastic series Ghost Hunter Mystery arrive as guests at the wedding, and play an intricate roll in helping with the case! It was so awesome to have both Abby and MJ together!! The constant miscommunication between Abby and Dutch in this book was really getting to me. I wasn't sure for most of the book if Abby even really wanted to marry Dutch! I couldn't figure out what her deal was until the very end. It was so simple, I felt really dumb when I realized. Abby's sister Cat rears her ugly mug in the story with her ridiculous demands from Abby, which only heightens Abby's reluctance about the wedding and staying NOT MRS. RIVERS! Oh lord! That whole conversation was just too much, but I must say that if it weren't for Candace and her excellent best-friend-listening-skills, Abby would have screwed up the whole thing! I do have to give Cat credit for one thing though, SHE DID NOT INVITE HER PARENTS! Overall this book was fangtastic! I loved the drama, action, suspense, romance, and most of all Abby Cooper! Narrator Review Elizabeth Michaels is the narrator for this series thus far and is superliciouslywonderful as well! I am seriously running out of awesome things to say about her, but she is a wonderful performer. Her Bogart impression sucks, but it brings a smile to my face, and charm to the character. So all I have to say to Elizabeth is keep on doing what you're doing because it is perfect.

My sister started reading this book series when it came out. She sent me the first few, and it took me a few years to start them. Once I did, though, I was hooked. Now we have a pact - whoever buys the next book has to send it to the other once they're finished. This is one of my favorites - the dialog between Dutch and Abby at the climax of the book was the highlight. :-)

Wanting to include characters from both her series, Victoria Laurie has chosen to have dual timelines for the story. When I read about it, I was concerned. Can that really work and not get cumbersome? She managed it well. The opening chapter certainly gets you on board the fast moving story in a hurry! Yes, I think her sister has definitely lost her grip on the wedding. Not sure what that was supposed to do for the reader. Overall, very exciting with a sweet ending.

Deadly Forecast is the eleventh book in the A Psychic Eye series, and the first to bring Abby Cooper and M. J. Holliday from The Ghost Hunters series together. When Abby and Dutch began their relationship and the books became more on the "thriller" side, I longed for the old days. But now I am happy with the exciting aspect these books have taken. This books switches from a couple hours before the wedding to the very recent past and the case of a serial bomber that Dutch and Abby, as a FBI consultant, have been working on. With less than a month till her wedding, Abby has a vision where she Dutch being killed just before the big day. When Dutch is called out to beauty shop where a suicide bomber has detonated their bomb, Abby tails him to make sure that he stays safe. When Abby is finally allowed into the shop, she has a vision of what the bomber looked like and also connected with the owner, Rita, who was killed in the blast. With this information a sketch artist is able to make a drawing of the young lady wearing the bomb and soon hear from the mother who has seen the drawing broadcast. Dutch and Abby also stop by Rita house and talk with her teenaged son. Hopefully with this information they will be able to find the person responsible for making the bombs before anymore lives are lost. Also in Deadly Forecast, Abby and River's wedding is just a couple hours away when they realize that Abby has gone missing. Abby has found a note, supposedly from Dutch, to meet him at their house as he has something special for her. But instead the serial bomber takes her hostage. When Dutch and Candace get to the house they find M.J, and her assistant Gilly overcome be some type of noxious gas. The clock is ticking as they race to find Abby. Will be waiting to read the next book in this exciting series.

I usually adore this series. But this book just did not appeal to me. I flipped thru pages and honestly did not CARE who the culprit was.

I loved this installment especially the alternating chapters. What i did not like was Cat. sure she is aggresive but taking Abby's phone when she knows lives have been lost? So not cool. and she did not deserve to be psrt of the wedding(in the end)I really liked the MJ and Gilly charecters incorporated but not overshadowing the Abby charecter. I'm really sorry but I never liked nor agreed with the losing of Steven then introducing Heath, who I don't like so Gilly with no Heath was a bonus.I will def keep reading my psychic eye books but stopped on the other series.I had read alot of opinions on how the wedding finally went on but(other than Candace and Brice)I did not miss the others and,for Abby, this wedding was perfect no muss/no fuss

Great Summer read. I loved It! Abby is getting married to Dutch or is she? It is more than wedding jitters. Abby has a real bad feeling about the wedding and that she is a danger to Dutch. M.J. has a bad feeling too. This can't be good.

If you only have time to read one book this summer, let it be Deadly Forecast! But I must warn you, when you sit down to read this book make sure you turn off your phone, disconnect the doorbell, & get ready for the ride of your life, because you will not want to put this book down for any reason! This book is intense, compelling, & unforgettable. Victoria Laurie takes her two popular main characters, Abby Cooper from the Psychic Eye series, & M.J. Holliday from her Ghost Hunters series, & brings them together for this edge-of-your seat tale. The book is written with two different timelines converging on the day of Abby's & Dutch's wedding. Abby's timeline starts out 2 weeks prior to the wedding, while M.J.'s starts on the day of the wedding. As we start the book Abby has just awoken with a splitting headache & a bomb strapped to her chest! We then flashback to how this event has come about & the two timelines start ticking down to detonation. Abby, her groom-to-be FBI Agent Dutch Rivers, her BFF P.I. Candice, & Abby & Dutch's bosses Brice & Gaston have been called in to investigate two apparent suicide bombers. While trying to track down the source & reason behind the bombings Abby & Dutch are trying to finish building & moving into their new home all the while dealing with Abby's crazy wedding planner sister, Cat. (think swans, butterflies, cupids, & 6 white stallions!) All the while Abby keeps getting "messages" from her guides that Dutch's life is in danger. Meanwhile the second timeline is running with M.J. & partner Gilley arriving on the day of the wedding at the wedding venue. When M.J. realizes that Abby is missing the hunt is on to find her while the clock ticks down to detonation. All the while the reader is left hoping they find Abby in time, praying that Abby's premonition about Dutch's death does not come to pass, & wishing the wedding will come off in the end so that Abby & Dutch can live happily ever after. Make sure you have plenty of tissues available, (I will not say why as I don't want to ruin the ending, but I will admit to reading the ending first & even knowing the ending, I still felt the intensity of this book.) Read it, you will not be disappointed. And if you have time, read the rest of the Psychic Eye series to see how the characters meet & the relationships grow. Ditto on the Ghost Hunters series.
