Editorial Reviews

The Barnes & Noble Review
Readers count on Christine Feehan to start the action in high gear, then slam her foot on the accelerator. In this installment of her paranormal series that began with Shadow Game, she delivers again -- big-time.

At the beginning of Deadly Game, a team of GhostWalkers, led by brothers Jack and Ken Norton, are on assignment to protect a politician from a supposed assassination threat, but it feels like a setup to them. As shots ring out, Ken takes down a sniper, only to discover that he is a she -- and a dead ringer for Jack's wife, Briony. They recognize her as the twin sister the evil Dr. Whitney kept for experimentation. Now she is all soldier, part of Whitney's army and an unwilling participant in his genetically enhanced breeding program. Jim warns Ken that Mari is tough is nails and likely to rip his heart out. Sure enough, after the first time they make love, she knocks him out cold. Then Mari has a chance for redemption -- the opportunity to rescue her team from Peter Whitney -- but only if she can learn to trust Ken. This touching love story between two deeply scarred and psychically gifted people, set in the midst of heart-pounding action, shows off Feehan intensity at its best. Ginger Curwen

Meet the Author

I live in the beautiful mountains of Lake County, California. I have always loved hiking, camping, rafting and being outdoors. I’ve also been involved in the martial arts for years—I hold a third degree black belt, instruct in a Korean karate system, and have taught self-defense. I am happily married to a romantic man who often inspires me with his thoughtfulness. We have a yours, mine, and ours family, claiming eleven children as our own. I have always written books, forcing my ten sisters to read every word, and now my daughters read and help me edit my manuscripts. It is fun to take all the research I have done on wild animals, raptors, vampires, weather, and volcanoes and put it together with romance.

Christine's previous books in this series have been full of action, emotion, and steamy sexual tension. This one, however, is full of repetition and very little action. We spent way too many pages on how terrible Ken felt about himself, on how much he was attracted to Mari, but couldn't let himself have her, how they both felt about Whitney making them for each other. I was disappointed in this book.

It seems as though the Ghostwalker series is evolving into something like the Dark Series. I was so looking forward to this book and was very, very disappointed. I gave it to my adult daughter to read and she felt pretty much the same. The books are becoming the same old, same old.

I've read all in this series and this book needs(ed) some serious editing. Page after page of the twins thinking about how bad or dark they are--over and over again. Fortunately, in reading you can skip...I would venture to say, the author wrote this book over a long period of time and forgot 'she already said that' several times. Editors?

I can't wait for this book to come out. conspericy game was the last one about his twin brother and this one proves to be more exciting containing both the twin boys, the twin girls and the twin babyies that bri is pregnant with. i can't wait to see what this brings and what developments are made along the path to uncovering Dr. Whitney! A great read for anyone looking for a book to break the monotony!

Both characters constantly cry about how unworthy they are to be loved. So much so, that it made this a painful book to read. I like the Feehan series but oh my geez!

love the ghostwalker series!

BUT, as with all the other series Ms. Feehan regaled us there is always one predictable trait: the "unavoidability" of their preordained path!As in the Dark series..where they will see in color, in the ghostwalkers they will have the kind of sexual attraction you only dream of because of that "un-killable" mad doctor! What I mean is, starting to read I KNOW what will happen. And I could do without the repetitions..as a result I jump those parts? DEADLY GAME IS GREAT! I LOVED IT!
