Christian has been with the Kinncaids for many years. She has been like a mom to Tori, Brayden's daughter. Her and Brayden sleep together and he tells her it was a mistake. She moves into a condo and starts getting pictures, phone calls. When someone breaks into her condo, it's the man she's been hiding from, an important politician. When he escapes, Brayden realizes he almost lost her and will do anything for her. But now he's threatening the Kinncaids and she will do anything to protect her family. At one point I wanted to scream at Christian to tell everyone the truth. This story will keep you at the edge of your seat.

4.5 Thrilling Stars!  His angel. He knew she wasn’t dead. And he’s finally found her … An abused child and teenage runaway, Christian Bills created a new life for herself with the help of the wealthy and powerful Kinncaid family. She showed up on their doorstep almost nine years ago, scared, starving and alone, and they took her in making her one of the family—no questions asked. She’s helped Brayden raise his daughter Tori, who thinks of her as a mother. They live together, work together, have built a life together, and over the years she’s secretly grown to love him. After a ball at the Highland Hotel, a night of dancing ends in one of love, when she and Brayden finally give in to their passion. But Christian’s happiness is short lived when the next morning Brayden tells her that what was the most wonderful night of her life was a mistake that never should have happened.  Brayden Kinncaid doesn’t know what’s wrong with Christian. He’s known her for years and only recently discovered his feelings for her go way beyond friendship, but he hasn’t been able to bridge the distance he put between them. She’s one of the strongest women he knows, so the changes in her are startling. She’s lost weight and seems distracted, quiet, and withdrawn. Her haunted gray eyes, worried brow, and darting looks lead him to believe something is drastically wrong. But no matter how hard he pushes her, she won’t confide in him.  Now, dark secrets from Christian’s past threaten to rip her safe world apart, and when she’s attacked, Brayden vows to discover what she’s hiding—before it is too late … Deadly Obsession, the third installment in Jaycee Clark's Kinncaid Brothers series, is a well-written, emotional charged, romantic suspense thriller with a riveting storyline and a psychotically obsessed villain. Once again, Ms. Clark blends sensual romance and danger into a spine-tingling story that will leave you cheering for the villain’s demise. Both the hero and heroine are complex characters, whose individual fears nearly destroy them. Brayden’s unable to see a future with Christian, because he hasn’t dealt with his own personal demons. He’s strong, arrogant, powerful, stubbornly blind, and throughout the first third of the story richly deserves a strong slap against the head for his ignorance. Christian has struggled with a dark, ugly past, which she has seemingly overcome, but is deeply hurt by Brayden’s reaction to the night they spent together. What I had a difficult time believing was that such a strong, intelligent woman wouldn’t consider confiding in her family—especially one as wealthy and powerful as the Kinncaids—or in her neighbor, a police detective. Regardless, another highly recommended read, Deadly Obsession is a chilling, highly suspenseful story and emotional read of fear, the power of love, healing, and the strength of family ties with a satisfying HEA. Content Warning: this story deals with rape.

Yes. After reading the other books in Jaycee Clark's 'Deadly' series, I finally got "Deadly Obsession". It's another spine-tingler that will have you shuddering and cringing from the twisted, psychotic villain and his obsession with the heroine.

Christian has made her home with the Kinncaid's for the last nine years. She still can't quite remember how she came to their home, but will be forever thankful that they offered her terrified younger self a safe haven and a family so much better than the one she fled. And now, as an adult, she and Brayden Kinncaid are finally facing the feelings that have grown between them. But just when Christian thinks her life is her own...she acquires a stalker. And it's not just any stalker, it's the one she fled from all those years ago. His message to 'his Angel'? 'You'll always be mine.'

I still get shivers writing that last sentence. I'll say again that Clark can write some of the scariest psychos you'll ever read about. Now I have to find out why the youngest Kinncaid brother's story hasn't been published yet. Cause it's one I want to read.

As I have said in other reviews of this series. You will not be disppointed in this book or series. The thing that I relly love was the family ties in this book. How a family sticks together and helps each other no matter what.

I love this series of books - adventure, danger, amazing handsome and manly men who have to be brothers! Each book gets better then the one before. Brayden &Christian's story was riveting & I can't wait to read Ian's. Try this series...you'll love them too.
