Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Patricia Williamson
This is a cute tongue in cheek book about things in this world that can cause your ultimate death. Not totally likely for most of them but really interesting information about anything from a Tsunami to a Giant Squid to a Vampire Bat and even plants in your garden. A quick read for a person who loves trivia and is interested in all things lethal, deadly, or possibly harmful to humans. The reading is set up in files: first the facts about the injury or harm (always ending in death or suffering) and then the ways to try to get out of the way or avoid the danger. Many of the files have subtle references to classic literature and how that peril was used or seen in the story. Intermixed in all of it is really good information about some perils that must be addressed such as earthquakes. The illustrations are minimal and do not really add to the information. Each file has one. Reviewer: Patricia Williamson
