So I read the book thinking it was just a regular book with a happy-ending and finding out later(in the end) its a whole series. Anyone who is reading the summary of Deadly Promise, make sure you buy the first one first and so on. hehe So now I'm starting out from the beginging but knowing the end. Darn. The book was great! I love it when I can read a book and my imgaination is so clear. I rarely find books like these! I can't wait to read the others and see what happens to Leigh Anne and Rick.

I love this book. All of the Deadly series is good. I especially like her relationship with Calder Hart. I can't wait to see where the two will go next. I can't wait for their wedding and wedding night.

No one can compare to Francesca Cahill when it comes to getting oneself in a bind! I absolutely adore this series and am eagerly anticipating what comes next from Brenda Joyce.

I MUST CONFESS THAT WHEN I FIRST STARTED TO READ THE DEADLY SERIES FROM BRENDA JOYCE I COULD NOT GET INTO THE STORY. I FOUND THE STORY COMPLICATED AND BORING TO FOLLOW, UNTIL I GOT TO THE MIDDLE OF THE BOOK. THEM I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. RIGHT AFTER I FINISH WITH THE FIRST ONE I WENT HUNTING FOR THE REST OF THE SERIES, AND I WAS NOT DISAPOINTED. THE REST OF THE BOOKS WERE JUST AS INCREDIBLY WONDERFUL AS THE FIRST ONE. BRENDA JOYCE IS A MAGNIFICENT WRITER AND WITH THIS SERIES SHE BRINGS THE READERS ROMANCE, MISTERY AND A LOT OF EXCITMENT, THAT WILL KEEP THEM GLUE TO THEIR SEATS UNTIL THE LAST PAGE:)

Well, she does it again! Ms. Joyce captivates her readers as no other author can. I have read every book that this author has written and this series is the best. Deadly Promise is the best book out of this series, hands down. Young Francesca is on another case, along with her youthful, loyal sidekick Joel. But now the stakes become much higher as several young girls become missing. You'll enjoy yourself as Ms. Joyce takes you on an unforgettable four days into the life of an amature sleuth. She describes in amazing detail how life must have been at the turn of the century. This is how the very rich and very poor must have lived. You feel like a fly on the wall, getting to know the characters who grace these pages. What I love about this series is that there simply is not a good guy or bad guy for Francesca. Both brothers truly love her. Both have their own faults and both are very human. I can't wait until the next book comes out! Hurry Brenda!!!

After saying yes to Calder Hart¿s proposal of marriage, wealth society heiress Francesca Cahill disappears. When she returns, she meets up with Calder at a society function where he announces their engagement. Also at the party is New York City Police Commissioner Rick Bragg, the man Francesca loves and her fiancé hates. Even though Rick is married to the beautiful Leigh Anna, he feels betrayed that Francesca is going to marry his detested half-brother.
The object of both their affections is more concerned with her new case than matters of the heart. A beautiful young girl has disappeared while walking from her home to the store and her parents are frantic with worry. As Francesca, with the help of Rick and Calder, investigates the child¿s disappearance, they discover that more young girls have gone missing and they fear a white slavery ring is operating in the area. Francesca is determined to find the children and discover who is behind their disappearances even if it means putting her own life in danger.
Francesca is not the typical society debutant in 1902 New York City as she is a strong-willed, feisty crusader who believes in the causes she fights for and is determined to be more then as ornament, hence her job as a sleuth. The Francesca Cahill novels are always brimming with passion and history. DEADLY PROMISE is a delightful romantic mystery that will have readers so enthralled, they will want to finish this work in one sitting.

Overview
It is March of 1902, and Francesca Cahill-Fifth Avenue heiress, undaunted political activist and intrepid amateur sleuth-has just learned of a grave new danger haunting the streets of New York. A beautiful teenage girl named Emily O'Hare is missing and Francesca fears that the girl has been abducted. Only one person can help her learn the child's fate-but Police Commissioner Rick Bragg may not want to get involved because Francesca has just stunned Rick by accepting a proposal of marriage...from none other than his own rival.
Francesca still questions her decision to marry the powerful and notorious Calder Hart. But ...
